ALLRIGHT THEN! I'LL GIVE YOU COMMENTS!
It's clearly a track from your midi-period. That's all I'm going to say about the sound.
I don't like the idea of using Man in the Rain in a dance remix as much as I liked it with Muse. Unlike Muse, there are some musical points getting lost here (a problem I more often have with techno/trance/dance/etc remixes of well known tracks, but the audiance doesn't care about that, mostly it's only me). I think it's because MITR is a vocal piece. Allthough in Mike's music the line between vocal melody's and instrumental melody's isn't as clear as with other artists, I feel that I'm missing certain melodical developments. To put it with a dysphemism: it sounds raped. And I think the broad audiance hasn't the same feel with the song as we, Oldfield fans, do, so that decreases the value of the melody also.
I'm being awefully negative here! That's probably because it's hard and irritating to listen to now. I think if it was a 'muse-quality' track, the melody-issue wouldn't keep flashing through my head.
So, in general, maybe it would be a nice starting point for your more recent musical skills to remake it in a cool shape!
