Hi,

I've posted a new track on my MySpace page, follow this link: Purple Rhapsody MySpace (http://myspace.com/rhapsodyinpurple).

It's called Masquerade and has been written for full orchestra and piano.

Unfortunately it's been encoded at 96kbps because the file was too large for MySpace at 128kbps. Hopefully it won't sound too bad though!

Cheers,
Terry

Is it really that bad [wry smile]?

Negative comments and ideas for improvement are just as welcome as pats on the back!

Cheers,
Terry.

I didnt get a chance to reply until now!

This is a great track and nicely executed, I've had a quick listen to your other pieces and your work is very promising, keep it up   :D

It's wonderfully composed! I like it all the way through but my favourite part is probably the one beginning at 6:10. My only complaint would be that I find the violin pizzicato a bit strange at the end of this very part, but I might get used to it with more listenings. The transitions are very nice and the piece is very coherent, and remains interesting even at this length.

Well done and thanks for sharing! :)

Thank you BlueTape and EeTon for your positive comments. I've been composing music for years and years but must admit to being a little doubtful about my skill in arranging for orchestra so your comments have really given me a big confidence boost.

EeTon - did you mean the bit that is just piano and pizzicato violins or the bit just before that with the brass as well? The bit with the brass I considered using short bowed notes rather than pizzicato but ended up using pizzicato because otherwise it was hard to hear the tune... I'm planning to revisit the arrangement before it makes it's way onto my next CD - I don't plan to make any major changes but I'll certainly consider your comments.

Thanks again!

Cheers,
Terry.
