ian Group: Members Posts: 473 Joined: Nov. 1999 Posted: Feb. 24 2003, 05:30 Around 1985 I read a small article in the paper (I still have the cutting which has been scanned and put on the articles section of this site) where Mike's cleaner answerecd a telephone call and took a message from a Mr Jackson.She thought nothing of it and when Mike rang the nimber he realised who it was.He aparently loved the music from The Killing Fields and wanted to make arrangements to work with Mike.Does anyone know why this didn't happen? Man In The Rain Group: Members Posts: 405 Joined: April 2002 Posted: Feb. 24 2003, 15:08 I remember reading this in the Dark Star back issues book, and they reckoned that, although they didn't collaborate musically, Mike appeared in the Thriller video as a zombie. Of course, the fact that the video was shot in 82/83 and Jackson couldn't have heard The Killing Fields since 84 at the earliest, seems to have escaped their notice! When I emailled one of the editors to ask about it, he had no idea what I was talking about! The magazine used to be unofficial and titled 'Shoes And String' (I think). Anyway, because all the old issues were hard to get hold of, they reprinted them with the first few unofficial issues of Dark Star and put them together in a book. And in one issue it says about Mike being a zombie in the Thriller video. I think its nonsense, but a very bizarre rumour! After he collabrated with Macca he went behind his back and bought the rights to all the L/M Beatles songs. Incidentally Macca hasnt spoke to him since, cause he allowed them to be used by sponsers for commercials, which is something the beatles were always against. Moral of story "Beware the MJ wanting to work with ya as he is more likely to take your music and destroy it."
