A while back i did hear that Michael Jackson was very interested in working with Mike Oldfield, after he heard that soundtrack to The Killing Fields,i can't remember where i heard this though, but so it goes,MJ called MO at his house, but Mike was working in his studio and was to busy to take the phone call, seeing as MJ has worked with a few big name guitarists in the past,Slash and Eddie Van Halen,to name 2,this could be quite a true story, can anyone please tell me if they have heard about this.
Thanks

This rumour was in the Dark Star back-issues highlights book, titled 'Name That Did Not Ring A Bell'. The article concludes that 'Mike never did find the spare moment to take up the chance of his lifetime, although, if you look carefully, Mike can be seen moonwalking in the background of Mr. Jackson's Thriller video'.

The chance of a lifetime? For Jackson, yeah. I emailed Dark Star about this 2 years ago and the response was 'I've never heard of this rumour before, could you give me any info?' so I'm guessing its false. After all, Killing Fields was 1984 - and Thriller video was 1982!

Really? What's Mike doing there?

I think Michael Jackson looks pretty ugly at the moment, though... almost like a skull

The only reason i thought that this might be true,is that Jackson has played with some great guitar players in the past, including:
Eddie Van Halen,
Slash,
Jennifer Batten!!!
so,i thought it natural that he would ask Mike to play with him!!!!.
The plot thickens
