Have you guys noticed that number 3 is someting quite present in MikeĀ“s music,he wrote 3 songs called Taurus(I,II and III),now the new album(Tr3s Lunas)...just a silly guess.

Remember that the fact he wrote some songs reagarding serpents(Serpent Dream and new Viper) has something related to his sign in the chinese horoscope.

There is a Dutch saying that goes: all bad things come in three (parts).

No relation to Mike though.....

The Ramans do everything in threes... wink

There's also the recurring theme of the moon. First with Incantations, then with Crises (there we have the moon on the cover, Moonlight Shadow and the title, which could be taken as a slightly indirect reference to the moon's sea of crises...) and now with Tres Lunas. There are a few songs with passing references to the moon in them as well.

Mystic Mike...

The number three actually seems to be something universal to all kinds of religion, mythology and folk tales.

Take a quick search on the net and see what comes up - you'll find all sorts of things about the number three and its significance to different people.

"I am one as you are three
Try to find messiah in your trinity"
- Smashing Pumpkins, 'I Am One'

the themes behind the music of smashing pumpkins were heavily influenced by william blake and his own beliefs, the purification of the soul and the corruption of one's innocence from the moment one is born...sorry wrong forum - I'll make a separate topic in the other musicians forum about them!....

The holy trinity...there's one of the religious threes...threes appear in hinduism as well...

There are also interesting threes relating to art, involving triangles and thirds...

Mike might have come across some of these threes, particularly those in religion and folklore. Whether he ever thought about them is a different matter, though it may be a number that seems 'right' to him.
