Here's a silly poll. Pierce Brosnan has bowed out of the James Bond role. How about Mike Oldfield as the new James Bond? Can he step into the shoes and hold the martini glass? Can John Cleese continue his new role as "Q" and reprise his role in "TB 2003" by providing Mike with musical gadgets? Rather see a Hayabusa than an Astin Martin?

Agent "XXV" instead of "Agent 007"? How about it?

LOL...I prefer Mike as Mike himself in his motobike style or Voyager style

oops. meant to make the third option "Blackadder". That's what you get for only knowing Atkinson's work third-hand.

No.

He'd make a neat Bond villain or a supporting character though.

Mike actually said in an interview on Australian television back in 1992 when he was promoting TBII after being asked who he would like to have play him in a movie, Sean Connery, because he always fancied himself as a bit of a James Bond type character!

Thinking about it, Man in the rain could be made into a fantastic James Bond theme song!

I seriously think that some of the lines would fit in well with some naked women made of water and the credits hehehe  ;)

Serpent dream is the kind of track that wouldn't be out of place in part of a bond film...........

Out cast re-worked for James Bond, the possibilities just keep arising you see  :)

hahaha

I say no to such experiments but I wondered about Mike holding a glass of Guiness and saying: my name is Bells. Tubular Bells. And Q, Cleese of course, would give for instance mega-sustainer device to the guitar, 8 strings lol, or the very sophisisticated effect-rig :D I see a gun hidden in the guitar ... or bomb in the amplifier....

Mike could deafen his enemies by playing harsh crazy sounds as in the first six minutes of Amarok  :D

Never mind him playing the next James Bond-

he seems to be busy playing the new Doctor Who-
This is a press shot of the new Doctor from the BBC website.

he bears a remarkable resemblence to an 80's era M.O

I'd never realised that before! Maybe it's Mike infiltrating into society in as many ways as he can!
