I don't know if it is already posted here, but Mike was recently on a Dutch radio program, 4 FM Mezzo, in a interview
alternated with his music (in historical order!, from his first album until now..)

Here is the link:

Thanks for posting--quite interesting. Mike's comments about Amarok are fascinating.

yepp! Thx  :D
I like what he said about Hergest ridge and moonlight shadow.
Specially about the way he did the lyrics too Moonlight shadow. It is and will be a very special song to me. Like he said; he worked with it to the dawn. (it is very special to hear the song 4 a'clock)
About he really was scared Maggie would belive that the lyrics was stupid.. (  ;)  it is not Mike)
I like his lyrics very well!
Alot of good and interessing things was said and it is always funny to hear mike speaking about the songs he made.

If no one else volunteers, I could work on this with someone who speaks Dutch--I could do the playlist and Mike's responses. In my spare time this week, I have two other commitments to finish, though, so it would have to wait a few days.

I don't know if it is my imagination, but I think I've heard that interview before. It reminds me very much of the conversation Mike had with Ken Bruce on the UK's BBC radio 2 show that was broadcast just before they played the 'tracks of my years' recently. It was played in excerpts over a period of five days.........Now I've re-read what I said and I'm not so sure (just typical of me!!;) but it's just the overall feel of what was said that seems so familiar. Perhaps I'm having a deja vu moment quietly over here in the south east of england or it could be that I know the music so well!!

Out of curiosity, wondering how long this would take, I started transcribing tonight while spinning (compromised a few mph, ha ha). I'm about 41 of 58 minutes in and have to stop for the evening. I need to go back through to make sure I've  heard everything properly. It's not too bad going, though.

Bee--I kept thinking I had heard it, too, and actually asked a couple of others about that. I had wondered if I had missed the discussion about Amarok meaning "changling," for one thing.   BTW....transcribing makes you listen carefully, and in the section about FMO, I don't think he mentioned the singing airplane as he said one time in an interview. I was getting tired, and that's one part I need to pay careful attention to when I review.

Tubularman is from Norway, not Holland :)
But I am... I actually hadn't come round to hearing the full interview, but I'd be willing to translate it.
That is if it's still necsessary because of all of Inkanta's hard work. (don't want that to be useless ;))
I'll hear what I must do later I hope
:)

I finished the initial transcription tonight but will need to go back through it--especially in the beginning until I got the hang of it think I missed some words. I will clean it up, and send it to you to add the synposis of the part in Dutch. I can almost understand bits and pieces about the music and the autobiography, but not quite. It may not be until Friday or Saturday, though (have been neglecting another commitment). Thanks!
