Hi All

I have just built a out house and bought myself a 5.1 set-up.

http://www.pioneer.eu/eur/products/archive/DCS-580/index.html

So I am looking to buy some Mike Oldfield 5.1 albums

I already have the TB2003 DVD and I have pre-ordered the new HR,Ommadawn 5.1 and Tubular Bells II & III Live DVD.

Are there any more out there I can purchase?

I am not too hot with this sort of stuff, I have not long got rid of my old twin tape deck  :)

Cheers in advance

No, there aren't any others. There are DTS 5.1 mixes of Boxed and Exposed floating around on the WWW, but they are unofficial. The Exposed and Berlin 2000 DVDs, though, are official releases, and they're in DTS 5.1. The Elements in DVD is in stereo remixed for 5.1, but it also sounds good. :)

Cheers Ugo :D

I guess I shall just have to wait and hope they remix the rest of Mikes albums.

I would love to hear a 5.1 mix of Crises and Five miles out.

They released the Quad mix of Tubular Bells on SACD which plays back on 5.1 systems but doesn't use the centre channel or the sub. You'll need an SACD player for that though.

Not sure if the TB2/TB3 DVD is actually mixed in 5.1 or not.

A SACD player is something I will look into in the future when I upgrade to separates.

I chose the Pioneer DCS-580 as I picked the full system up for only £240, after reading the reviews it looked the best option for my budget for a music and movie player.

I must admit for a noob like me I was a lost looking at the separates on sites like richer sounds and I was a bit put off by the prices of the separate packages. plus, I have gone well over budget already on my out/summer house project :(

So I will be back in the future for advice on a new audio set-up and hardware once the out house is built and wy wallet has recovered :)

PS.. I am looking for a nice TB large canvas print for the wall,
If anyone knows where to find a good quality one please post here.

Thanks
Bevy

03 Mike Oldfield's Single (Theme from Tubular Bells) 5.1 Surround Mix by Mike Oldfield, Bahamas, 2009
04 Sailor's Hornpipe (Viv Stanshall Version) 5.1 Surround Mix by Mike Oldfield, Bahamas, 2009
