There's a lot of information on the internet.

Mike Oldfield wrote the theme music for Big Brother.

Mike Oldfield is in a band called Hallucinogen with Simon Pos[t]ford and his best track is LSD.

Mike Oldfield went to the same university as Mark Knopfler, there Knopfler taught Oldfield how to play guitar. Consequently Oldfield created Tubular Bells in 1978.

etc. etc.

Oldfield loved The Exorcist and it inspired him to write Tubular Bells, an album packed with spine-tingling horror themes.

If whomever had wrote that had said Earth Moving rather than Tubular Bells I might`ve believed them..  :p

According to a report in the late 90's Mike was talking to his mother again after many years. Now that's crap journalism. She died in 1975.It was the Daily Mail.Mind you they also said Hendrix died in 1972 aged 30 of a heroin overdose so there you go.

The ones I posted are from forums. I guess people lie deliberately and just say they read it somewhere. For journalists to do that is even more incomprehensible, they shouldn't be able to get away with such nonsense so easily. Sometimes it's funny, but sometimes it's just very bad publicity.
