Just listening to BBC radio 2, and, announcing next weeks guests, it was announced that Mike Oldfield is a 'possible' guest next week.

Anyone know any more- could definitely be to plug the 'Platinum collection'

Sure it's to promote PC,but no sign yet of which show he's probably going to visit.

Is it almost like "L+S" never came out? It was promoted using the "in locked file cabinet with basement room with Beware of Leopard sign on the door" level of promotion, it plummeted downward through the charts... and now , just a few months after its release, it is not even an consideration for an interview? They are concentrating on "Platinum" instead?

L+S means a lot to Mike personally that he chose not to promote the album.

Well, at least that is some explanation. I guess we should count ourselves fortunate that he let it get released at all.

Considering the fact that it contains a lot of what we consider Tr3s Lunas II, maybe it was simply a way of getting some cash and cleaning out his closet?

Surely he's with a label for a reason!

They signed him to make money, HE chose not to promote it?

Light and Shade is underrated :)

Im amazed "Surfing" wasnt released as a single beforehand and
a load of Radio Promo CDs sent out.. Its a Deff Radio 2 type
record thats pretty catchy,,, IMO to get a album going you
need a great single on it that the DJs like playing.. Or maybe
the PR people at Mercury just hope the "Name" will sell the
albums with out pushing it to hard mmmmm  ;)

It could well be the Steve Wright show, as Steve is a big Mike Oldfield fan, and he has been on Steve's show before.I hope he plays something live when he's on there too.

i think its very strange...
No promoting for L & S (a very quiet one)
Maybe there will be no Light and Shade tour..
I hope he could call it "Ommadawn 30th Anniversary tour" instead..
that would sell :)

If Mike's planning on doing a 30th Anniversary of Ommadawn Tour, he'd better start making  some arrangements otherwise it'll soon be the "31st Anniversary of Ommadawn Tour" . I'd love to see Ommadawn played live :D , along with others, as Ommadawn alone would make for a short concert.
Something must be afoot at Planet Oldfield if Mike is going to appear on Radio 2 ;) ,(possibly).

The show starts at 14 pm and finishes at 17 pm GMT(London time)

Hints:
1. record it and put on a mp3 file for those who can't listen to it at the right moment;

2.Take a look at the webcam from the studios, since there's a chance to see Mike there during the interview.

It's interesting to note that the BBC discography of Mike includes no Light + Shade, but mentions even every video. Maybe they've just never heard of it to update...  :/

I've read (haven't heard the radio) that Mike told he was working on a long-track album with only 3 long tracks?

Who heard the show? What did he say?
