A few days ago, Mike Portney Tweeted and and posted on his website that he has chosen to leave Dream Theater,

He says that he wanted original for the band to make a short hiatus, but when they disagreed with this action, he chose to leave Dream Theater. Read the rest in the above link.
I know Dream Theaters style is kind of polarised to what most tubes are fond of, but this is quite the major event, as Mike Portney continually owned the band for 25 years.
I was going to see them live three months ago but my cousin had a wedding. oooooh my.
