Quote (Laurent @ Nov. 11 2009, 19:05) | About Miguel Engel, does someone know anything else ? |
Welcome, Laurent.
Yes, I'm also a fan of his works. As I see, he uses the same important folk elements in his music that I feel essential and very core to Mike's music. I think there are three professional artists that gets really very close to Mike's style, and Engel is one of them (other two being Michal Wojtas aka. 'Amarok' and 'Shaped Signs' ). I feel all three of them are quite underrated, all in all.
His artist name is (or maybe was, before 'Arcengelus' ) 'Engel' and he released an album in 2002, also called 'Engel'. It's very good, worth checking it out, you can buy it for example at Musea Records. Though, I feel he's even improved since then, especially his production skills, lately.
He even popped up here on tubular.net.
Some more links with Engel-stuff: An inactive Spanish blog about Engel, with links to music from his first album His SoundClick page His Myspace page Unfortunately the site with the fantastic 18-minute-track, 'El vuelo del alma' is not online anymore.
Besides, he collaborated on Roger Subirana's album Lost Words.
Anyway, he plans to release a new album soon.
-------------- If I were music, I would be Enigmatism.
