Welcome to our new home ex olfielders.com

Ok, here I allow myself some agrression uploading.
if those reasons exposed are true, I dont think theres an example for an artist so not connected to his fans such as our beloved mr shutting down forums due to a worng foot morning.

But we will keep loving him wont we? we will keep buying his CDs even if we know its nothing like any of his good work just to find those twenty seconds in the whole CD that will make us feel like we feel through all 60 minutes of Amarok.

We're addicsts! lets admit it.
Hello guys im Yuval and Im mikoholic. (you guys sould reply "hello yuval we love you")

I feel in a way humiliated.
I enjoyed the so called "official web site" the way it gave me the virtual feeling of being close to mike, watching his avatar all around, reading his, posts thinking im almost touching my idol... and it pinched my heart every time a newbie would come around and addres mike directly hoping for a never to come personal reply. But we all see the truth now.

To be honest Im done with VR games when I was 23 playing tombraider, and I wish hard mike would focus all that energy he spends on VR into what hes really talented at. but as long as those hopes dont come true- and they havent been since TB2 to my opinion(12 years of expectations - tb2003 doesnt count) , I'll enjoy Tubular net and you guys as my new virtual home.

I promise never to say anything against the reason why we are here again as long as he doesnt shut this one down too.

Furios - but relieved and smiling.
Yuval :)

happy?

Hello, Yuval... umm, weloveyou. ;) It's good to see you sticking around here. I enjoyed your (sometimes controversial) company at MikeOldfield.com, and yes, I can relate to your feelings. But I'm glad to see that you're reacting positively to it. I don't hold hard feelings against Mike or his wife. I'm not in a position to question whatever reasons brought them to take that decision, and I still admire Mike.

As for you, well, I hope you like your stay. :) It's always good to have more opinions and points of view.

Hi Sir M
Im not holding anything againt him and I agree we're not in a possition to judge. I dont think he owes me or any other fan (except mr richard c) anything. He gave us enough, his music. But it does sadden me to watch a domain such as mikeoldfield.com becoming all about a PC game.

As I said before
Suppose Bill gates releases a pop song to the radio.
should microsoft.com be only about this song?

Always enjoyed your company as well, and being controversial for me is a complement - thanks :)

still admire mike as well

Mike give us enough? He gives NOTHING but a bloody game with a lot of problems, real shit. Also his music:WE PAY a lot to get 20 seconds.More you cannot find on each CD to listen, rest you forget.
The poor Mike has depressions, haha.Hard working?
Oh don't believe it.He thinks he is good,but he is a nothing.A arrogant man,drinking to much.All stars respect theis fans,he don't!
Forget him.

Well, dragi, or whatever you be (please register first). I think that Mike gave us a lot of good music during 20-30 years (it depends). Hope that he will come again with the music. But people like you, who critics at everytime Mike's work, was one of the reasons that make Mike to close the official forum. First of all, Mike is only a person, like you or me. He have feelings, and you are not above he to speak about her life, what he make.

Just a note to request that everyone keeps things civil here. I don't think any of us wants a repeat of what happened on mikeoldfield.com before the forum finally disappeared...

Punch me hard Richard if I crossed any of your forum lines. I mean it! I dont wanna be a burden to anyone - especially not to those who make this forum available. Appologies if I did cross any of anyones lines.

No, it's fine Yuval. It's just the messages were starting to turn a little aggressive. I know that people are angry about what's happened at the moment, so I'm not blaming anyone, but I'd rather not see people at each other's throats!

I think the clean design and the colour scheme of this board is mellow enough not to let things like that happen - Mike, take note :)

Has there been any aggressive behaiviour before on here Richard? I guess here you have the power to make things happen to avoid it (i.e. deleting threads and pm-ing warnings to offending members), rather than just pleading and protesting against it as was the case on Mike's board

Hi Yuval,

Hi All,

Is it O.K. if I pitch here for a while? until Mike sorts his place out!... speaking of which, if anyone would like to join a few of us at his old place at Hergest Ridge 6th 7th 8th August please come along.  I'm sure it will be a great weekend!  :)

Mike why not come along too... I think you need a break also!

There has in the past been some pretty heated debates here. I think any debate is good and most importantly interesting (not to mention enjoyable) but we all have to remember to keep it constructive and never personal. The bottom line for me is at the end of the day we all have to think of each other as mates.

The difference here to MO.com is that it's run by fans for fans, I think it's healthier that way. We try not to tread on each others toes. I think our new contributers from MO.com will find this place much, much easier to use and much, much more friendly, fun and interesting.......I hope.

There are a few differences between here and "that other place", that some new vsitors may like to keep in mind.

It's been discussed already (here), but the general feel of this place is, oh, the difference between talk radio and top 40 radio. Or between quality newspapers and tabloids.

And given the influx of people now "that other place" is down, and the huge increase in posts over the last 48 hours, it's going to be fun to see the administrators keep up. At least there are admins here.

Personally I would be happy if Mike spent a few quid to buy Tubular.net.  And pay the guys running it.  We all know how professional this board is and much work has gone into it.

Also a 24/7 server for Maestro.  Which I must say I expected anyway.

Also for Mike to expand the game! a portal to visit Tres Lunas and AMAROK maybe... etc. etc.  But maybe he is working on it anyway!

I hope!

Hello to all of the new guys (and girls) from the other place. This forum is a nice friendly place - please lets keep it that way (and if you wouldn't mind awfully not swearing - no need here - just sit back and relax).

Thanks.
