HI ALL
I HAVE JUST MANAGED TO GET ALL OF MIKE'S ALBUMS AND I HAVE TO SAY THAT NEARLY ALL OF THEM ARE AMAZING UNDER-RATED GEMS!.  THE ONLY ONES THAT I THOUGHT WERE NOTHING GREAT WERE:- THE KILLING FIELDS/ GUITARS AND THE MILLENIUM BELL.  THE KILLING FIELDS WAS NICE BUT TOO FAR REMOVED FROM THE OLDFIELD SOUND, GUITARS COULD HAVE BEEN GREAT IF MIKE HAS SPENT LONG WORKING ON IT.  MILLENIUM BELL, HAD IT MOMENTS BUT DID NOT CUT IT.  GUITARS SOUNDED LIKE SOMETHING MIKE DID TO PASS THE TIME UNTIL HIS EUROPEAN TOUR AND I DON'T KNOW WHY THE HELL HE HAD TO GET IN ON THE MILLENIUM CELEBRATIONS LIKE A LOT OF OTHER ARTISTS, HE PROBERBLY WANTED TO RIVAL HIS FELLOW NEW AGE ARTIST JEAN MICHEL JARRE'S MILLENIUM CONCERT IN EGYPT.

:p    :)

Yeah. Wasn't that a cool concert? They even constructed some really vastly immense stone pyramid structures for the concert which remain on the site near Cairo. These structures were inspired by the ones seen in the movie "Stargate".

I actually thought that the 2K Berlin concert did more for the Millenium Bell than the album itself. The concert was a tremendous spectacle.

It took several listens but i think Millenium Bell is a cracking album. This album shows how diverse Mike can be in his styles. I think "Broad Sunlit Uplands" is juuust such an emotional pieace of music. All these tracks are gems!!!  :)

I agree TKFs and Guitars are his poorer albums, but I've loved TMB since I first heard it.  It's diverse and deep enough to warrant repeat listenings (imo)....
