I'd like to know which nominations or awards Mike has had all along his (short wink )career all around the world.

Thank you.

Arghh too bad...
Well, to sum up the topic, if I remember well, Ugo said that Mike was nominated in 1996 with 'Voyager' for the best 'New Age Album' grammies that Enya won.
Tim said that according imdb.com, he was nominated in 1985 for both BAFTA and Golden Globes Awards For 'The Best Original Score' with 'Killing Fields'...

Now, I'm wondering what about the 'Ondas Award' or 'The Goldene Europa' Awards ?
Are they some kind of Grammies and whad did he win ?

Can't answer your question(s) Vinz, but does the list of awards gathered so far include the 'token' Grammy Mike won in 1974/1975(?) for TB? ('Best Instrumental Pop Album' or something like that)

I don't know if Mike Oldfield actually got this award or if the movie industry did, but "Tubular Bells" won for best score in a movie (The Exorcist) in the 1974 academy awards. I'm not sure if MO went up on stage and got that award or not

Hey Vinz
I'm 110 percent sure that Mikey won the German "Goldene Europa" lifetime award international. In the show he performed Man in the Rain. Hope that helps ya! ;-)

I think The Exorcist got an award for the best sound, not the best score. I don't think Tubular Bells got an award, which is logical since it's not the score of the film (only a few seconds of the album were used in the film).

Thank U for your answers biggrin
To clear it up, in 1974, Mike won the grammies for the best instrumental composition, and it's for sure smile

Sally : I'd like to know what are the 'Goldene Europa Awards' exactly (and 'Ondas Awards too, if it's possible)

Ondas awards are Spanish awards of music.

And yeah, Mike won a Grammy with Tubular Bells for the Best Instrumental Album. Some times, Grammy judges choose the right option... wink

I can remember that the Ondas award were in November 1998. It was something like that:
ONDAS MUSIC
Organization Ondas Special Award
