Does anyone know much about this or similar charities? I know someone who's having a hard time and if the sort of help was available which I believe the charity offered, it would be an immense help for them. I guess the difficulty is people have to want to do it, which I can't guarantee they will but I can always try and ask I guess. I also guess they can try the NHS but the NHS is quite dire.

Any thoughts on this. I came across an old post suggesting Mike no longer actively supported the charity.

Thanks in advance for any replies etc

Regards,

Alan.

He was certainly promoting it at the time of TB2 and it did become a registered charity but I've never heard him talk about it since so maybe it's no longer in existance. I guess he'd be the man to ask.

From past experince the NHS needn't be that dire for that sort of thing. It's always a bit of a lottery of whether you get to see the right person first off. Some doctors are very sympathetic and some just arn't but they will usualy always help point you in the right direction and you'l get there in the end. However as you say you do have to want to get help and not feel awkward about trying to get help.

It's a good unique idea for a charity. However I guess those sort of things need Richard Branson type drive behind them and Mike just doesn't have that kind of work ethic, business entreprenurial flare, (or so it would seem to me, I could be wrong).

Thanks for your reply. I guess I'll have to try and be sympathetic and be tactful in the way I suggest it. I know people in the US don't have the sort of hang ups we have about it in the UK, which in my opinion is unfortunate. Maybe that's because it's a status symbol of how much money they pay their therapist though.

The risk is, I'm in Leeds which will mean St James University Hospital and the last thing anyone would want is a spotty teenager fresh out of uni with no or little experience. I know you've got to start somewhere but that's the only thing I hate about these "teaching hospitals"
