I have seen Mike 3 times now live. TBll at Edinburgh, TBlll @ HGP and Then and Now at Birmingham 1999. Do you prefer a concert such as TBll which was note perfect to the album or do you like improvision by Mike where he goes for it big style with his guitar playing? IE - Moonlight Shadow ' HGP?

I certainly prefer the ones with more improvisations. The best example to me is Tubular Bells Part One that had different versions on every tour and I like any of them way more than the original album version.

More improvisations than a control c control v of the album.Even on concerts like TB III and TB III premieres that the control c control v mode was on,I noticed slightly differences on some tunes on the way it's played.

Good were the days that Mike played his songs with more improvisation = the 80's.

I think there are quite a few instances of improvised guitar melodies on Then&Now Tour. The most typical example is of course the fantastic FATC solos but also Let There Be Light, Crystal Clear, Shadow on the Wall, Cochise, Embers, Jewel in the Crown, Outcast, Moonlight Shadow are partly improvised.

Some of my very favourite of Mike's solos are Far Above the Clouds from Horseguards Parade and Moonlight Shadow from Berlin 2000, both of which were very noticeably different from the album. Of course, if there is a guitar solo on the album I really love I would like the concert version to bear some resemblance to the album version, but some differences are always nice.

Yep,I do agree and I forgot that! The FATC solos are fab if you compare to the album,as well as Moonlight Shadow.

When Mike is not in a premiere mode on,he rocks a lot live.Premiere mode on,he is too serious with bits of rocky parts.

what i like the most is the polen concert in 1999. he rocks like crazy. can only compare with crises at viareggio 1984, and the premium version of tb pt 2 at the rock and classic night in 1982 in münchen. this is mo at his best and i miss more of that. original  versions are then to mediocre. it is like a tuned car. my dream? u want to know? ok i  will tell u. on the next tour
i wish not fitfty dates. i wish only five or six. but every one lasts about three hours with a different set. and then he can play cool rocky classic and chillout medleys through the bank. with loreena mc kennitt, tom newman, terry, the chieftains eh stop now come back to reality sorry...
