ouch! I'd rather he picked them up again. Looks too much like a "guitars? don't need them anymore" message!

The chandler guitars site does have a section marked "Mike Oldfield", but it is empty for now.

Maybe they're redundant because he's found a way of making saxophones sound like guitars.

As long as he keeps the amber PRS and the red Strat I'll be happy.

I've heard an interview with Mike (post Light and shade) where he says that he doesn't have guitars for show - he uses them all. Mmmmm...... :/ Confused now!

And in other interviews he talks about buying guitars for fun, almost as toys.

"This is my latest toy, a couch guitar", from sometime in the 80's.

Remember the pictures of his studio covered in instruments? We all need to have a spring clean every now and then. I'm sure he'll keep a good few, it's too much in his blood not to play guitars.

If his playing abilities were for sale, I'd mortgage the house I don't have.

They could end up on Amazon as a set.

Just be careful when you go there to buy the CD "Guitars"... watch out for the item being sold called "mike oldfield guitars" that costs £38,000 instead of £12.99.

I'm surprised that he has offered one as a competition prize for Dark Star subscribers!

Pity he's selling some, as I don't have much money, as I'd love to own some of his actual guitars!

I'd actually play them, as I would want to just have it for keep sake, nor to sell later as an investment! I think it would be crazy to own a guitar and never play it and keep in original condition with the last set of strings that Mike used on it!

I couldn't and wouldn't butcher it up either, that would be like giving a facelift to Marilyn Monroe!
