I see that Mike has put his Chalfont St. Giles (Buckinghamshire), house up for sale for £3 million through Hamptons (www.hamptons.co.uk).  Sadly there are no photos apart from the exterior but they do show the floorplans incl. studios.  Hope he's not planning to leave the UK.

I hope he's not planning to leave the UK too,Mike has always liked moving house though,he never stays in one place for too long, but i though that he was very happy in his current house, with the lovely garden, and indoor pool, and hi-tec studio, not that he can't all that in a new house, but he did seem content there, you see a lot of the inside of Mike's house on the Through The Keyhole show, which was on BBC1 a few years ago, looks very nice.£3Million eh,lol,i won't be putting in a bid for that one then,if only ;)
I wonder where he is moving to next though, should be interesting, maybe as he has a new wife,he wants a new house to go along with her, which is fair enough,

Mike has found musical inspiration from a lot of the places he's lived at. During the Discovery period in Switzerland (or was it France?) he gave us The Lake.

During his time in Ibiza he tried his hand at writing dance music which didn't go well :/, but thankfully he also gave us Voyager

so if he does leave the UK, it wont be all that bad. I don't know what it would mean about our release dates

I hope doesn't leave the UK... but then again if I could leave I would.

Just looking at the price of property dahn sarf.... what a rip-off £350,000 for a two bedroomed, one bathroom apartment with no parking space.  Up here you can get a 5/6 bedroom, 3 bathroom, 4 reception room house in half an acre of land for that !!!!!

Come up north mike, you could buy a small county for £3 million  :D

blimey.... that's what we're planning to do ! We have relatives in Brampton, nr Toronto.  We are rennovating our house to sell.  Go over there for a year, travel coast to coast in a RV and down into the States.  The amount of space over there is amazing.  But it's going to take a long time to realise this particular dream. Mind you 3 mil would just do me right!

It was advertised in a newspaper that his house was for sale a month or so back. He's looking for somewhere with more space for the horses (and there might be another reason too...).

There are other ways of telling too, but I'm not going to mention those and would suggest that others who know do likewise.

I'm not interested in any kind of information regarding his personal life to be honest... and I don't suppose he likes it either... in this day and age one has to be really careful, there are too many dangerous people out there.

And as for "Through the keyhole" I don't agree with that kind of invasion either - Imagine an american style tourist bus going by the house and a Loyd Grossman voice saying "and on your left is the home of....."  :D

poor guy... I'd go to the north pole

I would'nt call Through The Keyhole an invasion of privacy, because Mike agreed to it,they did'nt go in there without his permission, and the house was aslo in Hello or Ok can't remember which one.so Mike has been fairly open about his house.

yeah, you're right.
It's just that he appears to be an extremely private person, who fiercely guards his personal affairs.  Through the keyhole seemed to be a contradiction.

We've seen it so many times on TV really...on the Millennum Bell DVD,Through the Keyhole,Heaven and Earth...

But,shall we respect Mike and return to talk about other stuff than discussing the fact his house is for sale?
Mike would be very greatful for that.

I think Mike would be gratefull that someone came up with £3Million actually,i don't see the problem with talking about his house,as it has been advertised on a public website for the whole world to see,i'm sure Mike would prefer talking about his house than the usual complaining about his music that there has been a lot of lately.

The problem to me is - since you can find the info about his house on Hamptons's site, people can go there and bother Mike, which is something that worries me...once I've heard about a story that his personal address was posted on Amarok list and the result was not too good.

From what I've heard and known,Mike seems not to like contact with his fans, and I can imagine the scene,
"Gosh,my fans are here!"
Come on...

BTW,there's no info about who is the owner of the house at the webbie.Good.

If that quote is true, then I would feel quite sad... but if he has been put in danger by the leaking of information then that is wholly unacceptable, but there are genuine fans who only have his best interests at heart and their appreciating and buying his music have put him in that £3 million house in the first place... it's ok having outstanding talent but if no-one is interested in buying it, then composing and making music is a labour of love only.  And I'm sorry if that sounds harsh, cold and clinical.

The whole question of privacy seems to stem from the question  "because a person is famous does the public own them, or have a right to know them." and the answer must be a resounding no, of course the public don't own them.

On the other hand if that person does something out of the ordinary that draws attention to themselves, then it's only human nature for interested people to look into it.  Let's be honest here, we all claim that we respect Mike's right to privacy, yet in every forum someone will post about what they think Mike thinks and feels about a particular subject and everyone replies with their own version of what they think he thinks!!! We all believe we can get into his head, and we all assume that we know what he thinks and feels and the truth is no-one knows the man, but the man himself and those he chooses to share his life with. As for his dislikes and likes, loves, hates etc if he chooses to share information and is happy that people respond,  then I would think that it's harmless.
