Hello all!

In a recent article about Mike and his concerts in Valencia and Madrid NOTP 2007, he says he lately checked for his previous house on Google Earth on Ibiza. He says he found it and it's still there (of course, Noel Gallagher now lives there.)

But I can't find it. I found the island Vedra which is on the cover of the Voyager album (you can't miss it: it's on the south west of Ibiza). Mike's house is supposed to be there somewhere:

In 1997 Mike made way to the southwest of Ibiza to build a £2 million house from scratch located in Es Cubells next to the ocean.
He was a frequent visitor to `Ses Boques´ beach restaurant and Bar Llumbí.

"By the side of the church there is a road that runs two thirds down and along the cliff, to about fifteen or twenty big villas built on the slope.
One of the firsts to be built, right by the seashore, almost thirty years ago, was for the Swiss actress Ursula Andress ("007 vs. Dr No")
(together with Jean-Paul Belmondo), which has fallen into ruin now.

The road was extended three kilometres to the last villa built for the musician Mike Oldfield (Tubular Bells) in the 1990s."

I'm still looking. The road and the house has to be there somewhere. But did anyone of you find it already?

I think I may found something. There is a house (it's really overlighted in the picture) which ends and has a special road leading to it.

It can be found on coordinates: 38°53'35.18" N 1°13'08.33" E

anyway, that's what my mouse cursor points out

well have a look on these 2 pictures here:

The first thing to notice is the familiar form of the house, the road, and the pool.

This is one thing, but another thing is the familiar with neigbours.
There are three clear houses in the background. Also the rock in the sea. And the trees that is closest to the rock is also familar with the google picture.

So this would rather be 38°52'19.45" N 1°15'39.28" E

I thought it was within sight of Vedra Island, which is then not the case.

it is around here

He lived in Es Cubells, and if you see on the map, the place is the right place. I have been around the whole island (took me almost an hour) i was boring on a sunday

and this house is the only one i found familiar. But after this research i found the name on the place he lived in Es Cubells.

Sorry, have been cut off from the internet a couple of days.

Thanks for the information Tubular Man!! Looks like I looked too much to the west!

But Clodomir is indeed right: It's not really in sight of the Vedra island.

By the way, you say you have been on the island. Those pictures of Mike's house are made by you then? When did you visit the island, and did you knock on the door?

But one day i will of course. i would like to go where the Voyager pictures is taken + look at the house he had.
Spain is very special and mysterious (special at night in moonlight)
It is so dark and moody. Really one of my favorite places.
I hope to see spain next year.

About the pictures; i think they was taken by (a fan) the copyright belongs to oldfield.de.

Yes indeed. Alex (the webmaster of oldfield.de) was there. So he took the pictures, ok.

But I thought you were on the island because you said you were around the island... but you meant on google earth!

By the way: what about a new challenge!

Let's find the house of Michael Cretu!! He has had one, he now lives in a new house. But I think they are located in the north.

Let me find the Manor in Oxfordshire. I was there last summer (2006).

ah bugger... most of England still isn't digitalized. I can find Shipton-on-Cherwell, but the picture is not properly captured yet.

uhm yes, I had a picture of his new house taken from a helicopter, it was on his A.R.T. studios tour website (which was created by enigmamusic.com). But they took it of their website.

but i do have a video! Let me see if I can upload it..
