Hi,
Whilst watching a sci-fi/ex files "Style" show (It wasn't the real X-Files) a few years ago, I noticed that the music being played to set the scene was very Mike Oldfield-esque (?). I believe that I have all of Mikes recordings but I didn't know the piece being played. Is it possible that I have missed one? or was a piece composed especially for that series of shows? If you could help I would be enormously grateful.

Cheers,

Matt.

Except that the space movie was a collection of NASA footage and wasn't anything at all like the X-files...

I don't know the answer to the original question really, but he's certainly not written anything specially for a TV sci-fi series as far as I know (only 'Tubular X' for the X-Files film soundtrack). They probably just used a soundalike track.
