As far as I know,Mike´s dad taught him how to play the guitar when he was 6,but after that...there are few info about it.Is he kinda of seft-taughted musician or something else?
...what a real confusion on my mind!

talk about child prodigy. i wish i learned how to play 10+ instruments on my own before i was even 20. damn :)

Yes, Mike is as far as I know, mostly self taught. He learnt the guitar by analysing the playing of a lot of other guitarists - folk guitarists Bert Jansch and John Renbourn amongst them.

He was taught music at school (like many children across the world), but didn't do very well at it - similar to the way Albert Einstein never did very well in maths at school, perhaps.

My mates often call me Mini Mike cos i play guitar, drums, keyboard. i taught my self in all of these but at the moment i am having lessons on the drums because there are so many ways and techniques!

This is the main reason why Mike was always called a genius when he was first making music,he has a true god given gift,and he was a huge influence on my music making,the first track i wrote and performed was called "The View From My Mind's Eye"and it had 8 instruments on it,the only thing i did'nt play was drums,not my thing.

did u play to a backing track? recorded or sequenced? id love to hear it! mike has influenced me alot in my music especialy performace and composing wise!
