Well well,that shows that Mike is like us,he is a consumer who he's fighting for his rights.He's a human being. I was suprised that he doesn't have broadband...actually,some internet sites are made for broadband users...try to see MikeOldfield.com in a dialup connection...it's too bad... The thing is, I think it shows he doesn't know that we're talking, because he's quite obviously not read any of the complaints. That he can be so dismissive shows how little he cares... Before this, I was willing to think that he'd probably just had the wool pulled over his eyes by someone from the record company who'd told him that copy protection is entirely harmless. I thought that maybe once he found out what kind of problems the system caused, that he'd be concerned about it...I mean, if that was my album, I'd be livid! But then, I'd have researched the technology before allowing them to use it. It seems that Mike simply doesn't care, as long as he's getting fans' money. Whether he'll be getting any of mine in future hangs in the balance... Back to top

I don't really know why Mike is so anxious... cd-selling industry is still a big deal, and still tons of people buy original cd-s. Why is that a problem 4 him if some people copy the cd-s? Mike has so-so so much money, so i think he mayb do NOT understand that there are still people living in Earth who loves music but cannot afford to buy 10 or more cd-s in a month... I think he should be proud that so much people love his music... ok, tons of copied cd-s borned, but it must mean that that cd is REALLY REALLY GOOD, that is why people copy it........noone wants to copy a s**t... Sorry guys... and I still really esteem Mike and I think he is a great guy ho has amazingly wise and deep thoughts and a great philosophy... but the first part of the interview seemsed a bit too anxious 4 me. Not a mike-kinda-thing. lady*starlight Group: Members Posts: 7 Joined: Sep. 2003 Posted: Oct. 05 2003, 14:51 ok,illegal copy is wrong,but i can tell that almost all the mp3 that i get from the internet (mostly from KaZaa)doesn't have a good sound quality and that forces you to pay for the real thing if you like it.(Actuallly that was what happened with me,because the mike oldfield mp3 that i got has some ups and downs in the quality...And the most irritating thing that happens lately when you find a rare song or anyone you really want to listen to because you don't have it or are thinkin' on buying the cd is when it won't download,so if really want it you get the original cd...so no matter if internet downloading is on,the real thing will be always more valuable and desirable than creaky mp3. . .well,i think so. . . cheers!
