Much fun with this one...

Hi Klaus,

Blown away by the intro - I wished it could have gone on for a lot longer.

On the vocal parts there seems to be a lot of hiss from the 's' sounds (are they called sibilants?). Do you have a de-esser that could tone them down a bit. Of course, I was listening on laptop speakers that are a bit tinny so that probably contributed.

Great song - I really enjoyed it.

Cheers,
Terry.

Hey Terry,

thank you so much for your compliment and your constructive criticism.

I am completely with you. I am also not really satisfied with the voices.
In my opinion they are too weak and, yes, much too tinny.
I will try your proposal.

Another fact is, that I don't like my voice - I'm not a real singer as you might have noticed.

I can imagine another voice singing this one - do you know somebody, male or female?

If you know, please don't delay and tell me.

I'm looking forward to reading from you soon.

Cheers, Klaus

Great track, but yes - needs a "Big" voice, a Bonnie Tyler type like Islands.

Intro great, superb early guitar sound. Just a few tweaks and a radio friendly hit.

Thanks so well for your suggestions, olracUK

How can I get it more radio friendly - any tips?

Where and how would You do these few tweaks?

I'm not very familiar with such things - perhaps you could help me?

Yes, I agree - do you know a "bigger" voice than mine (but mind that I'm not able to pay Bonnie Tyler  :D ).

What about you? Do you feel like a good singer? I'm desperately looking for a suitable or qualified voice.
There are lots of compositions in my drawer, that are in need of a proper voice.

I'm looking forward to reading your opinions soon.

Cheers, Klaus

Anyway,

does anybody (female or male) have a good mind to "sing or resing" a few of my songs?

If you have or know somebody who has, please get in touch with me!

Cheers, Klaus  :)

Sorry Klaus, I avoid singing because it can be harmful to anyone within reach of the sound, and I don't know of anyone either.

:(

Cheers,
Terry.

Hello Terry,

I am almost inclined to think you already mentioned that - welcome to the club... :D

With such beautiful instrumentals as you make like Sojourn 1 & 2 and Mesmerized, why do you want to make tracks with singers at all?

Hello oblique,

first of all let me thank you for adding me on YouTube and your motivational compliment.

To answer your question I have to admit that naturally I (as nearly every serious musician)
would also like to reach a broad public in order to possibly even finance myself with my music.

This does on no account mean, that I will stop working on "musical walks" like SOJOURN and MESMERIZED.
At the moment I am working on a new "musical walk" (working title "Violet Chase").

But experience has shown, that there is no broader public for longer pieces like the above-mentioned.
People seem to have more and more less time to contemplate and concentrate themselves.
Everything - even feelings - has to be rushed through.

So I decided to also produce radio-compatible (but by no means shallow) ditties.

I hope your question is answered to some extent.

If there are further questions, please don't delay and ask me.

Cheers, Klaus  :)

In order to reach a broader audience you have to quit playing in the style you do i'm afraid. Do not misunderstand me: you certainly have the musical skills, but if you keep on playing in an Oldfield-like style i think you won't make it to the top. A - There already is a guy called Mike Oldfield  &  B. - Even for his music there is a very limited market. You simply were born to late. And you don't want to play dubstep now, do you?

Well oblique,

yes, I was born seven years too late, that's true and - yes, I don't want to play dubstep or
anything else that weird.

I'm also and by no means even particularly keen to copy such a genius like Mike.

My music is not only influenced by his dreams but by the phantasies of Ralph Vaughan Williams and the
inspiration, groups like Flairck and Clannad offer me.

If you have a look on what's currently going on in the music-business, you might have noticed, that bands like
Owl City, Gypsy And The Cat or even soloists like Gotye and Kimbra, who break out in a direction,
that touches both, Mikes or Vaughan Williams music and Flaircks or Clannads music, are very
popular (without being too commercial and mainstreamy).

My newest ditties (like Peri's Dance, No Road, Souls at standstill et cetera) are by no means oldfieldy.

Indeed, my longer compositions carry a lot of Mikes atmospheres and are difficult to be played life
(of what I'm still dreaming profoundly) and therefore almost hardly to promote and presented to a broader audience.

Thank You again for your motivatig compliment (...the skills...).

Cheers, Klaus  :)

You are an optimistic man, i see.
Nothing wrong with that. Besides skills and talent you need perseverence as well.
Having said that i wish you the best of luck and i'll keep an eye out for you.
(Writes: have to listen to short tracks too)  :D

Yes indeed, I am definitely optimistic, oblique.

And I can be more than what I call "diplomatically pushy"... :D

Thank you so well for your wishes and your sympathy...

Cheers, Klaus  :)
