Hello folks,

Just wanted to let you know about an album I've been working on. It's been somewhat of a side project for about 8 years though in the last two years has been my sole musical  focus. From a Mike Oldfield perspective I guess I'd put in somewhere inbetween Ommadawn, Incantations and Amarok in terms of production etc.

I've just posted the opening excerpt on myspace, it's called 'Mohribold intro', though feel to listen to some of the older pieces on there too.

The whole album should be ready very soon, just a cello session, mastering and the artwork to go!

Here's the link;

JUST TO UPDATE YOU ON THIS ONE, THIS EXCERPT IS NO LONGER ON THE MYSPACE LINK. INSTEAD I'VE UPLOADED THE WHOLE ALBUM TO BANDCAMP AS DETAILED IN THE NEW THREAD.

Listen to Mohribold; an epic musical tapestry that weaves between a multitude of genres.

Andrew Taylor's Mohribold album has proved very popular with fans of symphonic-rock, prog-rock, psych-folk and indeed Oldfield's classic albums!

..EDIT:

Seems this myspace player works very slowly !

Dartmeet is cool too ! of course influenced by Woodhenge ! Very magical too !

Thanks Tos, when I've mastered the album I'll put it up on my bandcamp page which is much quicker. Much more to come from the mandolins, bouzoukis, charangos, guitars, gloackenspiels etc.

Wonderful! There's harmony, there's tension, depth, not a second that's boring. And there's this certain "vintage" attitude that I like so much. You're a great musician and you took a deep breath of Mike's early works for this album.

Congratulations!  :)

Thanks so much Hans, funnily enough I was listening to some of your work on myspace only yesterday, you've got some dramatic and melodic stuff your self there :)

Yes, sounds like early Oldfield. Some nice styles here and quite abstract & nice Mandolin.
