I love Moonlight Shadow, I've heard it so many times...
But I still don't know one thing: Did Maggie Reilly sung it only or was there other vocalists?

I think I've heard at least 10. One of them is by one of the few vocalists who can rival Maggie: Annie Haslam.

I would be very grateful...

This page

http://www.allmusic.com/cg....H935633

lists a bunch

Amy Branch
Aselin Debison
Elana Duran
Groove Coverage
Annia Haslam
Kenton Files
Koto
Hank Marvin
Mike Oldfield
Moon
Renaissance
Royal Philharmonic
Scorefor
Shadows
Starlite Sax

---------------
Mike Oldfield includes Maggie Reilly, of course. I bet there are one or two bogus ones in there. AllMusic is not the most accurate thing: I was once researching a band, and found that band listed as a DRUMMER in another band.

Hmmm... interesting... :)

Thanks for the list.
I'm also looking for the names of vocalists who sung MS with Mike Oldfield.  I knew of other bands eg. Groove Coverage. I'm sorry, maybe my question was inaccurate.

I've not heard Annie Haslam's version--imagine it would be brilliant--love her voice.

Pepsi, a vocalist on The Millennium Bell CD, sang MS for the 1999 Then & Now concerts. She sounded a bit off-key to my ears. Maybe it was just my ears, or just that evening....

Do you have any idea how to get it???

I'm trying to get the info about the MS vocalist on '98 concert. I have the ver with characteristic inhalation before every line of text... Do you have any idea who might it be???

That was Pepsi Demaque at Horseguards (98), she also sang on the 1999 tour. In Berlin (New Year's Eve 1999-2000), Moonlight Shadow was sung by Miriam Stockley.
Another he performed it with, in the late 80s, was Anita Hegerland (only a couple times, as he never toured then...maybe even just once, at the volcano concert).
Otherwise, I think the rest have always been Maggie Reilly (I won't rule out that I might have forgotten some though! ).

There is a version of it sung by 'Cara from Polar Star', however it is thinly disguised as being another song...

Yuck.

The song, not the post.

:p

Renaissance, eh? I have heard of those guys. They're a kind of 70's art-Progressive-rock, aren't they? I could never imagine they'd get to perform Moonlight Shadow! That's interesting.

I have most of Renaissance's albums. One interesting thing about them is the turnover in band members in their first few albums, and that they started as a Yardbirds spinoff.

They evolved into an inconsequental new-wave band in the early 1980s, but managed to recreate themselves in the 1990s. Their "Moonlight Shadow" version is from "Live in Japan 2001: In the Land of the Rising Sun", a live album consisting of performances of their previous classics, with "Moonlight Shadow "sticking out as the only one not composed by Renaissance members.

A person more sarcastic than myself may say that Pepsi sounds off key every time she sings. But I'm not that sarcastic, so I won't say it :p

Do u possibly know if the mentioned MS-version is the same as on the "Waterfalls Of Sounds" (Live in New Heaven 16.09.1990) bootleg ?

The first time I heard of the song Moonlight Shadow was on Dance Dance Revolution, and it was sung by a group called Missing Heart.

Speaking of dance cover versions of MS, there's a cool one (IMHO) by E-Rotic, who covered lots & lots of other 80s stuff.

Dance Dance Revolution? Wow, I'd never expect to hear Moonlight Shadow in one of those! If I did, I'd probably have a heart attack. :)
