To those who use language tools like Google and babelfish, be aware of the pitfalls. Here is "Moonlight Shadow" translated from English to German and back again. I suppose if I had involved Japanese, the word "marijuana" would have appeared:

Latter that at all she saw that it
Away-created it by a Moonlightschatten
Exceeded on ensured and a warning away
Production by a Moonlightschatten
Lost in a river last Saturday night
Far away on the other side.
It was gotten caught in the middle in a hopeless fight
And it could not find
Like one by the trees does not press, which more whisper in the evening
Which sings is away-created by a Moonlightschatten
A Song ensures and a ensuring
Away-production all
Which it saw
Make a shade picture for rifle
Far away on the other side were by a Moonlightschatten.
It its do not shoot six time of a man at D run and it can to find like to press through
I to remain
I to pray
I see you in skies away
I to remain far
I to pray
I to see you in skies far away
Four in the morning in the morning the morning wegschaffen by moonlight shade
I to watch out your sight to form wegschaffen by moonlight shade
Star to be brightly in silvery night far away on D other side
Will you to come to speak to me this night however it to be able not to find like to press through
I to remain
I to pray
I to see you in skies far away
I to remain
I to pray
I to see you in skies far away
Far away at D other Side.
In one hundred and five the night was heavy gotten caught in the middle,
But air was alive, but it could not find, as one through
Away-production by a Moonlightschatten presses
Which was away-created, by a Moonlightschatten, to that, away on the other side is far.

"Four in the morning in the morning the morning wegschaffen by moonlight shade"

well that happens if you write a song saying "4am in the morning"

Here, in Taurus IV the spanish mailing list we did something similar. We tried to translate To Be Free into spanish using one of those tools. The spanish translation was very funny and nothing to do with the original in most sentences (but the official translation is also a bit funny, not really standard spanish sometimes ;) ).

I really never read it until now. "Make a shade picture for rifle" does stand out.

That's pretty terrible, especially as it has multiple translations for the line "Carried away by a Moonlight Shadow"

"Away-created it by a Moonlightschatten"

"Production by a Moonlightschatten"

"Away-production by a Moonlightschatten"

These sort of things can be handy to get the general idea of what a page is about, but they are not to be relied upon!!

How do you like the ebonics/Hip Hop translation, where "the" in "the other side" turns into "D" ?

I'll take it all with a winter, brain, and saw.
