After many weeks of hassling with my brain on a good idea, I've finally completed our company logo/fanfare theme! It will obviously play when our logo animation comes up at the opening of the game. Which will start out as a stary night sky and as the music builds some of the stars will swirl around and form an image of a sextant (a device used on ships to navigate with the stars or something) which is our logo. BTW, we've changed our name from Pegasus Interactive to Odyssey Entertainment because Pegasus was picked :). Also the final 'dings' at the end will be some of the left over stars twinkling.

I'm going to change the intro a bit to have a more clam stary night feel. Maybe with less strings....one really high note and one really low note instead of a lot of mid notes...if you know what I mean lol. But the buildup will be the same.

Here's the theme it was inspired by (Sierra On-Line - which is now called Sierra Entertainment and doesn't deal in adventure games anymore):

You could say it's bordering on major rip-off lol. You'd probably be right. But our project leader wanted it that heavily influenced by the other theme to make people get that "is...that..?" feel. Because Sierra On-Line used to be a really good adventure game developer and everyone loved their games....now all the old employees and even the head director is gone now and the new "Sierra Entertainment" took over and it's no good anymore and doesn't even make adventure games. And the whole adventure genre that Sierra used to do (and pretty much created) is now pretty completely dead (because all most people want now is action and blood and guts and competition etc etc like MO says and since companies now don't care aobut the games but only the money, they listen to the crowd. We live in a desensitized world. Same way with music....lol don't even get me started on that).

But we see a rise of the adventure genre coming again. And there are a LOT of fans who miss the old genre and we want to be one of those companies that will bring 'that' feel back that the older games did. So when they hear our theme and get that heavy influence of "is that?" then it's kind of a Sierra On-Line re-incarnation which is our goal. We'll obviously be original and not under the old Sierra's shadow or whatever, but we just want the world to know that a very awesome genre is not dead and it is a good genre indeed......

..yes....rant over. I'm sure it's not all that interesting to you hehe. I just thought I'd explain the story behind it. Thank you for your time. And your ears.
