Cool, especially that Ramirez.

I have an old, worn nylon strung guitar, a Hohner soprano melodica, a riq, a cabasa and a triangle that I've bent out of shape to make it look like a you know what.

Wanna trade something? :p

Ok. :) Interesting.

I forgot to mention some things. I also got:
EMU Proteus 1-XR synth module, Roland GP-8 effect module, Yamaha Rev-7 effect module, Monacor EEM-1200 vintage analog delay, Korg ToneWorks AX1500G guitar effect processor, a Peavey Valveking amplifier, a jew's harp, a penny whistle, finger cymbals, a cheap harmonica, a tambourine and a triangle. On my computer I have some software instruments like NI´s Absynth 4, FM8, Massive, Pro 53, B4-II, Korg Legacy collection, some Arturia stuff like CS-80 v, Moog modular, minimoog v, arp2600v, some Linplugs like Albino, Blue and Predator.

(The old worn mandolin I mentioned yesterday is a Levin 345 from 1937)

I´ve spent a the last few years to save for and collect all these instruments and equipment. Before that, when I lived with my parents, I only had a cheap Admira Juanita classical, a GEM electric organ, and a Vantage electric guitar.  :p

I don't have many instruments because I spend all my money on CDs and old vinyls. :D

However... I have a Petrof vertical piano, a Roland VA-7 keyboard, a Roland E-86 keyboard, a Yamaha 12-string acoustic guitar, a Fender 6-string one, a Yamaha recorder, a Yamaha electronic drum machine which sounds like a Roland TR-808... plus a very old mandolin which was hand-built in Catania, Sicily, and it's not shaped like a small guitar, but rather like this (all Italian-made mandolins have this shape). I regularily play all of these except for the recorder, which someone gave me as a gift when I was 10. I never learnt to play it properly. :) Last week I broke a string on the mandolin, and it was somewhat hard to find a replacement... when I told the dealer I had a real Neapolitan-shaped mandolin, he could hardly believe me. :D

Not at all.. Im just an regular girl with an huge apetite for music. I love playing.. and I am a bit like Mike - I like to play all the instruments myself :)

My collection of instruments is huge, and it's growing.. I use all my instruments.. and playing for several hours every day. Im not in a band at the moment, but I hope to get in one (hopefully playing progressive rock/fusion) as soon as possible..
In the meantime I play on my own :)

This is what's in my basement at the moment:

Upright piano
A pair of bongos
Light metal tambourine
Ibanez electric guitar (model from around that looks like a Les Paul)
Ibanez electric bass guitar (black, ca 1988)
Acoustic classical guitar (Alhambra)
Old Elka keyboard (small keyboard, heavy model)
HP Laptop with Reaper and Audacity (my main musical instrument)

I own a Kawai K4 synth, but it's getting old and suffers amnesia, which results in all sounds being mere sine waves when the keyboard is turned on.

Plans:
Buy proper synthesizer.

You said the magic word to get me to log back in Largstang......Kawai K4. It's still my keyboard controller(that battery does not give up!;). Having moved, my priority is my companion Eddy, a Shih-tzu maltese pooch(photos already posted). I'm getting him back on the horse, but GD the lithium battery in my 1990 K4 is fine! Kawai should be praised for the products they made! Even the K1 had some good 8 bit sounds(my '89 K1 still is alive and has aftertouch too!;). After I clean up some more mess, music is the game........Thanks for yanking my Kawai chain.

@Miar.Ok i admit i am hugley jealous if your guitar collection! Some nice pedals there too.Is the CE1 the big unit with the 2 switches? If so it may interest you to know the Mike used one of these live on the Exposed 1979 tour. They are now collectors items as i'm sure you know.
I read an interview a few years back (ok a lot of years back)with Mr Fripp and he was favouring Ovations with the Shallow Bowl.Never could get into them as they slip off my lap but good guitars all the same.

My friend Johan Levin is a fantastic synth programmer, and he made my K4 really sing back in the day. On my insistance, he designed some de-tuned, mellotrone-like string sounds which sounded just fantastic. The sampled waves weren't that bad (apart from the bass guitars perhaps) and the filter was great.
If I buy one again I'll go for the rack version (with 8 useful outputs) because I never liked the keyboard action (no "click" when the key hits the bottom!;).

Thanks :)

I know about the CH-1. I simply love it.
I fell in love with it since I heard Tony Banks used it on his Yamaha CP-70 piano, but it also awesome on guitar, bass and possibly every instrument you may want to try it out with.. hehe :)

I bought mine cheap from an fellow Genesis-fan I know. Lucky me :) Its working perfectly.. It`s as good as new :)
I`ve seen some on Ebay as good as mine for about 200 - 700$..

About RObert and Ovations:
Yeah.. He loves the shallow-body type.. I dont... I need more deep guitars.. I need something more to hold in my hands..
My Ovation is as deep as an regular Martin D-28 etc.. I love it :)

Possibly putting vocals wouldn't sound too great-unless you want the singer to sound like a Dalek!Tried it once with a later Boss chorus pedal.Very funny.Especially when the singer found he couldn't stop laughing at it and nearly collapsed!!!
One of my favourite Mike related uses is the part Nico Ramsden plays on part 2 of Tubular Bells from Exposed. The nice little rhythm figure before Mike's solo.Always loved that tone. Can be over used (as in all the early 80's bands that used it to death) but used sparingly it is a refreshing change to using tons of distortion.I notice you have a Guild 12 string too.Now that's one on my wish list since i play acoustic all the time now.Again a great sound if not used all the time.

Hehe :)

I love my Guild. Infact it was Roger Hodgson from Supertramp who made me buy one.. I just had to after I spent some time with him and his guitars a few years ago.. :)

Another reason is  becuase I`ve allways loved the sound of the 12-string. My dad has one and that was the first guitar I ever learned to play a few chords on.
His guitar is an 1977 Aria drednought-type guitar. Maple sides, spruce top. It sounds amazing.
I use his guitar as much as my own Guild. Same with my moms Levin. It really is the best classical guitar I`ve ever played :)

Interesting the 12 string is the topic. I've been a little busy with something I bought only about 5 miles from my front door 3 days ago at the Guitar Center:

I had a brother who had a Taylor that was over $3000 perhaps closer to $5000. He said he got it as his fee for atty. services. I never asked "for doing what"! I mucked with it in the late '80s and early '90s. Figured, nah.....I don't need one. Now I'm hooked. Picked this one up for $1800 brand new, the final leftovers after letting my Parker Fly go. Now I really don't miss my fly, but I still recommend it, and this Taylor too. It's sweet. My 1st 12 banger.
