I hope it works!

So what do you think about it?

Hmmm............ ;-)

Not my style of music but I listened all the way through, it seemed to get more palatable towards the end, or maybe I got used to it(?). Whichever, it started to have some structure and almost broke through my heavily melodic sense of what's good and what's not!

One of the transitions reminded me of David Bedford but I can't put my finger in why (specifically the Ancient Mariner album).

Cheers,
Terry.

I actually listened to the whole track too and thought some chaotic structure was there.  I'll listen to it again after a few beers.  Perhaps you could add some percussion and of course there's always room for more cowbell.    :D

Reminded me of Can, except for a moment around 2'12". which reminded me of Tr3s Lunas.

My song is very whimsical and chaotic. I didn't use hi-hats or snares or claps, I also haven't used bass to glue things together. I had no intention at all of making a conventional song. Most of the time you hear just one 'instrument' sometimes more but I had a maximum of four I think at a time, moreover I can't play an instrument myself, this was all done with fl studio 8. This track took me some time, which means that as I have gradually grown (perhaps) into making better 'music' the end will likely to be better than the beginning. I still have difficulty making clear transitions like viz. Jean Michel Jarre, although I did have some fade-outs in the song.

Interesting listen HR..

Some nice ideas there ..But it's just too short , many of these riffs/ideas could be expanded on giving the listener more time to absorb the journey on offer.
Example I like what you build on around 0:35 mark you give it a fill then return to it and then move on...pity.

On the whole I enjoyed it but would like to hear a... say 7 min version with slightly less space invader shots and longer progressed segments.

Nice Job  :)

Just listened... quite experimental to my ears.

Not my cup of tea, especially because I miss a melodic line, but some ideas could work if well developed.
If you could play an instrument yourself that could be great for an adequate song development and for a better expression of your own music, imho.

Cheers!

;) Sorry to be honest but i agree , also not my cup of tea ...but but i can hear something about Execution in this ! Sure you'll be inspired by Execution ! ....maybe in some short parts there's also something about Music from the balcony !

Well yes it's very experimental !  ;)

Interesting. I like this sort of ambient style... I wouldn't necessarily want to listen to a whole album of this kind of song, but it would make a great interlude track - or an interlude of a song.

I quite like this one, although I agree with Syd B that it might get a bit wearing.

Nice sound though... which synth is it?

Cheers,
Terry.

As I've already said, I use FL Studio 8. This is a FL Slayer single wahwah 1 with the string set to 6string2, the coils set to double, my AMP is dry, my cabinet is British, drive is all the way up (I think this gives the rich echoing sound) and my MFX-90 is set to MST multi tap, and my speed is all the way up and my hold is set to on.

Currently I'm also using massive which is a great plugin, I would recommend it. I haven't used massive on this song though.

"Know thyself"

Wasn't that written on the tomb of a pharaoh, or am I just crazy?

I've just listened to both your tracks on soundcloud... I like the idea of no structures as these are very fluid compositions.. very abstract and experimental and would maybe fit artists like Wire, Neu! maybe Stockhausen.

Boy! Yes weird is right... good on you though for going for this style..

And now....... Trumpets!!

My new song!

It's kinda.... unlike (IMHO) the rest so have a listen!

The third song!

Can't wait for the reactions. as I'm still learning this some tips would not be out of place. I do not consider myself a fully developed artist so some criticism would always be handy!

Cheers,

Leon
