Check out http://www.raydeoliveira.com -- the Downloads section features three excerpts from my new, all instrumental (but for random vocoder samples) album. Oldfield's works were a major inspiration, so was Philip Glass, Steve Reich and other minimalists. Bear in mind all of the music is electronics, so if you are allergic to that, feel warned :)

I'll be nervously awaiting your feedback. ;)

Hi
I listened to encounters
I actually think its beautiful and original.
Im not alergic to electronic music,
but quite alergic to acoustic sounds coming out of electronic instruments.
I believe a real piano only would do miriacles to that track.
its too soon to say in details, cuz its long complicated and hard to sing by heart, but it is challenging, pleasent to the ear and makes me wanna listen to it again and again.

A track such as this you have to know and "understand" the writer's intentions and vision before you have something on your own to say, and takes alot of listenings.

goodluck and keep on the good work
im gonna listen to the others now.

Have downloaded these just yesterday and it is truly beautiful, a little dancey.

Will try and be more descriptive after a few more listens. Thanks, Tracy.

Hey, I really like "Ethereal (video edit)" - the groove, the acoustic guitars and sequences, the floating angel lines, well mixed, good stereo panning, smooth volume throughout.  I had to listen to it twice  Now I'll listen to the rest.

I put another sample mp3 on the website and am about to start sending promo CD-Rs around... I'll see if there is any interest in this kind of music :) Will keep you posted.

I really like Ethereal, sounds like a mix of Tangerine Dream and Oldfield. Nice work! Haven't listened to the others yet.
