"myth of the wizards secrets" was apart of a 3 album project i was working on and I decided to let everyone listen to it.

the album is only one track and is a early release meaning that i could decide to add more work to it but for now, I'd like everyones valid opinions as so far, my work has not been suitable and it has really dissapointed me, so please have a listen and let me know what you think

because the short album lasts 31 mins, the download is 43mb
myth of the wizards secrets

thanks in advance

Hi!

A small reaction, if only because we get very little reaction on this board (and others, but anyway), and that's a bit frustrating.

Technically, the mix is very good, also the choice and quality of instruments. Very polished, no slipups or anything. Congrats, no comments at all on that front.

As the music doesn't have very strong emotions, themes or climaxes, it doesn't make me listen really actively to it the whole time, but for those same reasons plus its very polished engineering, it is excellent as somewhat more background music.

So it ain't an ommadawn kind of experience that grabs you, throws you across the room, hugs you and finally puts you back down. But I don't think it was intended that way, so that's no problem. If it was intended as a discrete but enjoyable compagnion when you're alone in the room and just chilling out in the evening hours, it certainly works.

Good work!

I've given this a few listens now, and it is growing on me - lots  :D

It is very different in feel from the more techno stuff you've done (which I love), and the production on this is great. The drums and soundscape are particularly good. But, as mentioned above, it did tend to become background after awhile.

I guess this is another side to you, the more "serious" composer. You told me that you love myths and fanatsy, hence the random name for the track, but I didn't get any feeling of any story or journey here. Tecnically this is fantastic stuff, and some enjoyable themes in there. All you need now is that "something", that climax , that soaring.

I know, how about a decent guitar player to add a solo? I may know just the man, but he's busy with an orchestra right now....  ;)

I'm sorry I haven't listened to this before. It's a long piece, and I've had a lot on my plate, and it was really just a matter of not being able to do everything I wanted, so I kept putting it off.

First off, let me say how much I admire your ability to put together a piece of music like this. I'm incapable of producing 30 seconds's worth myself, so a sustained composition of 30 minutes is a really substantial achievement.

I've only played it once, and that's not enough, but I didn't find it difficult to listen to. At least - I can't say that it held my attention all the time, but at no time did I get tired of it and want to switch it off. It seems - as someone else has commented - like a piece of mood music: the kind of thing that I'd play in the background, rather than something I'd sit down and give all my attention to.

The ending seems strange - at least, it doesn't really have an ending - it just stops. Is that intentional, or is this end really the beginning of a succeeding instalment?

Thanks for posting it. I'll be interested to hear what happens next.
