Hi guys, I'm in the talks of forming a band exclusively performing tracks from Mike Oldfield's discography. I think there's no name yet, and I'd like to propose one. I haven't got a clue. Wouldn't be bad a bit of brainstorming, and a very early idea is the person that got the finally successing name would eventually receive a free copy of our first recording.

So it is on now!

How about the name "Magellan" ? or maybe "Argieres" Whatever your choice I wish you all the very best.

An unofficial (boot) compilation of fan stuff was called Between Cars and Chaos. Sounds to me like a good band name as well. :)

So, the average listener only knows 2 maybe 3 Mike tracks - TB, 5 miles out and Moonlight Shadow. A cover band needs to attract the "a little bit interested" crowd, not just us manic fans!

Hmm.. "Get To France"?

The answer is 42 - but what is the question?

@ Chris Ibberson - thanx for your godd wishes!!!  ;)

@Tubular Tos - Heritage might be good!!

@ Tati - Haha that one is fun... how about CEN... Cloth Eared Nincompoops??? hehehehe

@ Ugo - That one is good as well... could be as well... 'Hey and Away'...  :p

@ olracUK - Or even 'Poison Arrows'...  ;)  or even less obvious, 'Moonlight Show'... this one wouldn't be that bad...  :O

Thanx to all for the ideas!!!

Tubular Moonlight?

Er, I don't know either. I knew someone who was planning a Gong/Hawkwind tribute band and wanted to call it Gong with the Wind, but it didn't happen.

Anyway, good luck with the band and let us know when you're making music.

Just a thought: How about Exposed, or Exposure, as it's a live project.

Seems a bit cheesy, but a MO tribute band with Tubular something on it is so catchy if you have big plans!

I think it's a winner. Are there any new TV show not featuring vampires? So you'd get teenagers, connaisseurs, and more importantly :p not Ugo to your concerts.
