Maybe we should buy something that belonged to Mike, each of us putting a bit of money, and we keep it - say 2 weeks - and then send it to the next co-owner (like in sports, members of a team who won a cup). With the NEVE, the shipping cost might be slightly prohibitive though...

Regarding the desk, possibly the worst desk Neve ever made.

A truly awful electronic track routing system, which is prone to losing it's memory - and no backup memory.

Very unreliable push-button switches, usually latched with the aid of matchsticks or toothpicks.

A novel monitoring feature: there is no connection between the forward path and the monitor section.
The only way you can hear the signal you are sending is to connect a tape machine (or recording system) and select "Input" which then sends your monitor signal back to the desk, allowing you to hear what you are doing.

I wouldn't touch it with a ten foot (or 3 metre)  bargepole.

Is Mi-D Mike himself? Seems to know TOO much about it  :D
If so, greetings Mike. Glad you've got a better system now!
