According to www.maggiereilly.co.uk and reilly.szm.com, on 15th September 2006 new album from Maggie Reilly will be released. Fortunately, this won't be a "the best of" compilation, as one may expect when looking at the release date (i.e. Maggie's birthday), but a whole new album. It is entitled "Rowan". Here You can hear to the previews and check out the lyrics.

As for me, previews sound quite promising. It seems that there is a chance for a very nice accoustic album. As in my opinion this has a chance to be an audiophile one, I wonder if there are plans of releasing a LP?

Best regards

Sounds good, I think I might just have to buy this.

Production to me sounds a wee bit uninspired but Maggies voice more than makes up for that.

One additional Mike Oldfield link, one of the tracks is "I once had a sweetheart", which is also sung by Cara Dillon on her first album...

Wow, it's over a year ago that I made the first post :)

Well, few weeks ago I finally got the album, in limited edition with additional "accoustic" CD (5 songs with just Maggie + guitar).
What can I say... Just brilliant. Great music, very good recording quality.
I'm really impressed, because the music is not commercial - a trend which is not very common nowadays... Respect, ma'am.

cheers

How is Maggie's voice holding up at 50?

Surprisingly well. And it seems not to be a result of digital signal processing, because she sings very well also on recent live recordings (definitely not playback).

I will stress it once again - with years Maggie's skills are definitely increasing.

cheers

Just got "Midnight Sun" off HMV .. My old Copy is Tatty .These are new 2008 releases which I think are remastered . The sound seems fresher anyway...  I Wonder where Mike got the Idea of "On my Heart" from cue MOTS.. Tk 4 on Midnight Sun.."Oh my Heart"    Same on "Echoes"  Tk2  Tears in the Rain"  TB3 "Man in the Rain"...

Any way Midnight Sun is a pretty hot Album... Get the Headphones on for Tk 10  "Only Love"  Man that Track Rocks forgot how much I loved it..
