In Mike's case,we had it on MO.com for Tr3s Lunas and also for TB 2003.

Now,he is currently working on the new one,but no diary this time. Why not this time again? A secret for the fans? Mike's busy with other thingies?

Your guesses.

Personally I can understand if Mike keep his work private, until it is at least close to being done. It makes the surprise even bigger, and would decrease your chance of letting public view get in the way of what you wished to create.
On the other hand though, I'm dying to find out what it is. I love all of Mike's music, so there is no doubt I will buy anything original composed by Mike. So far he has not let me down often, and has always made something worth listening to.
Do anyone have any Idea when his new release is expected to come out?

He's probably still reading the FruityLoops manual :)

I never knew he published his progress on the web, not having kept up with the latest after TMB. Are they still available to read?

I can see why Mike thought of keeping a diary for TL. He was creating something very ambitious and original. This was accompanied by the Daliphant etc mp3s and graphics

With TB2003 we basically knew what to expect. I can tell that Mike didn't publicise the main surprises such as two caveman voices and the exact way that John Cleese was going to introduce the instruments, as there were lots of posts about it after its release

This means the next album could be quite original. Possibly less commercial I wonder

...that, or Mike's still in a huff from the posts on his forum

I sit here while reading the posts and start up TB2003 and start thinking to myself why all the battering about FruityLoops and its well being. Well i think that

Is abit of a nasty thing to say due to the fact that its an instrument of its own kind, Look at what we got now to what he had then PC's, Midi, MP3's ect ect and your having ago about FruityLops so please take a look at this pic  Click here as you can see there are several instruments that mike can play.
Now take a look at Jean Michel Jarre Not as many instruments as Mike but still gives music that edge(Yes i know its a MO site) so unless you can knock out what Mike can and play as many instruments as he can then i suggest that you choose your words and be a Good fan and let him do and Play what he feels fit!

That ok, but how many centuries has it been since Mike played half of those instruments? Ever since The Songs Of Distant Earth, he seems to think that his guitars and toys are enough for him. :/ I don't quite agree, but let's leave that alone. I just say that I doubt Mike can beat Jarre on the computers and, if Mike keeps proceeding in the direction he is now, melody writing.

I don't want to sound rude. I hate being like that, honestly. But is there a set of rules for being a "good fan"? If criticising him means being a "bad fan", then I guess I'll have to be content with that label or not be a fan at all. Let's not keep things so serious. He's just a human being, okay?

Thanks Fernie

I have nothing against FLStudio and would probably say that I am more tollerant of Mike's recent music than a few others.

I was joking, hence the smiley, but it's fair to say that Mike composing with FL on his laptop is not as professional as his studio rig. I don't think bad about loop-based music - see my comment on this thread. I also frequently rave about how good Tr3s Lunas is

and BTW that pic was taken for 'Boxed' around 1977. If a similar pic was taken now it would no doubt be very electronically based, perhaps showing nothing more than a few guitars, though I bet he has all these instruments stored away somewhere
