I heard one the other day, but I was wrong when I thought it sounded like Suzanne Vega! It was Dar Williams, and another singer too!

I've only just put in Dar Williams 'Comfortably Numb', and here's what Google Search came up with!

Nice little interview but I really want to hear the song now! You tease, where can I hear it? I had never heard of Dar Williams, but I have Ani Defrancos first album (I think) called 'Dilate' from 1996. I think Tori or Kate or Sinead all would have been good choices too.

I would have been upset though if I was Dar and came up with the idea and invited someone to join me and they went off and did it all by themselves. That is dictating to her how the song would go when she obviously already had very specific ideas about it. Want to hear it!

Have you heard the version of CN from Sicssor Sisters yet,it's very different and very dancey!

I had to walk away from the Stage at Glasto when the SS started 'Comfortably Numb'... sorry but I can't help thinking it's a seriously bad cover version

I love the Scissor Sisters, I have their album with Comfortably Numb on it and I think it's great. If you are going to do a cover version of something it might as well be completely different from the original, makes it much more interesting. I suppose you don't like Franz Ferdinand either, do you have an issue with gay men?

I just dont like SS.
I have nothing against gays and I have always loved Queen and Franz Ferdinand is also quite nice.
I dont like Scissor Sisters or Elton John but it has nothing to do with the fact that they are gay or whatever.
I have sometimes posted some stupid stuff, but to say something bad about people just because they are gay would be too stupid- even for me.

The gay-like image of Franz Ferdinand is very cool, I think. I really like them! (although they've all got girlfriends ;) )

What I wanted to say was that I heard this Comfortably Numb, and it is really bad  . As a floyd-fan I find this unacceptable! (just like the techno mix of to france we had a few years ago,... forgot the artist btw).

Are you talking about the Dar Williams version or the Scissor Sisters version? Where can I hear the Dar Williams version, and what don't you like about it?

I haven't heard the Sicssor Sisters version enough to remember anything about it, but I'll say that Comfortably Numb is not Comfortably Numb without the guitar solo.  ;)

One thing that did annoy me is watching a TV show, the presenter was talking about the Sicssor Sisters version and how they took the "unlistenable" Pink Floyd version and turned it into something good... grr.
