Here's a challenge that may or may not amuse: choose a word from any of Mr O's records. The rest of us have to find a song by someone else that contains the word (Ugo has to find two). The person who finds a word that appears to be unique to Mr O is the winner. The prize is a lunch at McDonalds with Cooper Roy. To get the ball rolling, my word is "cinder", from "Hostage of the Heart".

Ok Milander, the baton passes to you now. Is "transfiguration" your official word? And I was looking forward to sharing a quarter pounder with Cooper too... :(

Actually, I've found one (although I haven't heard the song... maybe we should make it a rule that you're not allowed to use google...) Here's the link to it:

So it's my choice again: "gardenia". Bearing in mind Wiga's interior decorating, I'll also accept "magnolia"!  :D

@ nightspore: I have "The Transfiguration" by Sufjan Stevens (I was a bit unsure whether to quote this or not, because it's religious) and "Magnolia" by J.J. Cale. (An Italian band called Negrita also did a song called "Magnolia", but that was after the famous film starring Tom Cruise, and it doesn't contain the word itself).

@ bob: there isn't a single other song which contains the word "Ommadawn" written the same way as Mike wrote it, but at one point, during the animated sequence in Mary Poppins, the fox refers to the dogs chasing him as "those fiery ommadawns". :D

My choice? Well, I'd go for Hergest Ridge. "On Horseback", of course, doesn't count. :)

There's also "Sugar Magnolia", by the Grateful Dead. I'm not overly fond of the GD, but I quite like "Ripple" (except for the vocal style):

Hmm... there's "Orpheus" in "Spirit" by John Denver - but I can't think of anything with Morpheus. Looks as though you might be enjoying Cooper's company in Macdonald's, Milamber!

By the way, what do you think of the Grateful Dead? I've always found them a bit patchy, but occasionally they make the right moves.

@ nightspore: "All the flowers that you planted, brother / in the backyard / all died when you went away" - "Nothing Compares 2 U", obviously written by Prince, made famous by Sinéad O'Connor.

I think that the usage of the words "Hergest Ridge" in a song is unique to Mike O.

Well done, Ugo! But I think you're right about "Hergest Ridge"; we should exclude very specific names, as obviously they're not going to be used by other people. OK, the baton is yours: choose a word!

By the way, there's another song featuring "backyard" - Kincade's "Dreams are Ten a Penny":
