hah! i have no idea!!
Mike also says that he have used vocaloids because if you use real voices you must clean the voice for making it good. No one haves so good voices as they sing in the album. Maybe he have worked to much with Pepsi, i dont know!!
So now he mean that those computer robot voices will take over the real vocal singers. he says he love robotvoices and those android sound. He also says that he would not be suprised if there will be virtual popstars about some years.
He says also that singers today dont  look like real humans and dont sounds like it either..
Now in those days he havent played so much, he have been with his kids from norway and the other too. He also have been  strugling with a flue so no songs he cant sing..

(sorry bad english)

Well if he's referring to Brittany Spears and the like then I totally agree with him. I'm sure all these pop stars are just merging into the same person, they certainally look genetically modified.

haha.. yes seems like he have right!
We also had one norweigian dance singer. They found that her voice wasent her own voice but someone else. She had not sing on teh album at all, she was just a pretty face.
And if mike have seen world idol i must confess! ITS SUCKS!!

Tubularman covered most if it.. Mike also says he likes to work alone in his studio. Something like "I could hire an assistent, but I periodically just sit staring and thinking for myself, and that would be boring for that person".

There are probably some truly dedicated fanatics who would not mind at all being in the room for this. :)

"So, Sally, I hear you have this new job assisting a famous musician in his studio!"

"Yes, Sue"

"So, what do you do?"

"I bring him coffee in the morning. I bring him other things too (he likes beer, and he likes cheese). I sometimes open the windows because he likes the smell of a westerly breeze. Sometimes, I pick up his guitar pick for him when he drops it. But you know what I do most of the day? Sit and watch him as he sits and stares at the wall."

"is that IT???"

"Well, on Fridays, he has me check the fan mail. Most of the time, it is requests for lyrics to the chant on 'Hergest Ridge'. These always go in the fire."

I wish mike would just stick to what he's good at.. his music.. I have no desire to see these games and the music he provides for them are never as good as his albums.

Just turn off all the technology...just pick up some instruments..you remember!..guitars..percussion..mandolins..etc
Play with them. See if you can get a tune out of them.  :(

no.. he's just promising a game to come soon.
I hope he will do, and then he could make a mke oldfield world with new music and other songs from the tsode and tb III. That would be fine! Let it be alot of sound in it, and not just like what maestro was.

I agree with CuNimb.
Dear Mike, do you remember Amarok? We do, everyday.

he he... Sorry for this laugh.. But i begin to feel sympathy for you huge amarok/ommadawn fans  :)
I also would love that kind of album, but if we sit and wait for it we always will be disseponted. Who waited for amarok after earth moving? Mike is full of suprises!!

It doesn't have to be a new Amarok or Ommadawn. Just something original that sounds like it's created by playing real instruments would do! I once heard that Five miles out (the single) took 600 hours studio time to record. I doubt if he spends that time on the entire album now!
