Noel Gallagher prefers tubular carpets than James Blunt.

If The Sun said it, it must be the truth!

Hope its true. I quite like the idea Mike has his own Tubular Bells carpets everywhere he goes. Like the all the best things he does it hovers in that dizzy zone between being fantastically cool but also wonderfully naff

I like to imagine Mike has a huge, green, fuzzy, circular Hergest Ridge carpet complete with embrodied red plane and brown dog.

I wish they actually made those!  I'd buy one.

...Does this make me sad to the nth degree?

yeah, only problem is with a carpet like that you'd feel like mowing it....

...And then I'd cry when I accidentally caught the dog's tail with my mower blade!

I've crossed the line of idioticism.  I'll stop now.

You think you'd cry...what about that poor dog who's just had his tail mown off? ;)

I think that the wonderful thing about tabloids is how they tell people what they want to believe (and what they want people to believe...). Did Mike have tubular bells carpets in Ibiza? I really don't know, but I'd like to believe it! It's like something out of one of Marko's cartoons. Next they'll be telling us he had a set of tubular bells as a doorbell...

But where does it end? Tubular toilet roll?

Did Mr N Gallagher ever get rid of that "eye-sore" boat? Were there topless virgins dancing around the guitar shaped pool? Come on The Sun - we demand to be told! :)

Can you imagine the scene - "I was in Kosovo me, that Jeremy Clarkson is a decent bloke, my sister plays Polo, Ooh - i love that carpet motif, want to pop round for coffee?". I really feel fo Noel....  :p  :D

And when Noel moved in, did he find the remains of a half-eaten hamster sandwich in the kitchen.....

Tubular carpets sounds cool though, wonder if that was for real

  Although I'm not sure how much I agree with that, I still like how you put it, TOBY - it made me chuckle.

Makes one wonder... is Mike is more obsessed with TB than even his fans are?  :O

(BTW, I know very little about Noel Gallagher and James Blunt... should I be on Noel's side or on James'??)

I remember with emotion a few years ago when the substance that leaves my body directly to the toilet was shaped exactly like the famous logo. Felt criminal to flush it.

:D The picture that description conjours up in the mind is really quite something.I wonder how tempted some people would be to get out the digital camera, and save it for posterity? Good grief,I honestly hope I`m never faced with that terrible dilemma.Keep me on the straight and narrow oh Lord, and I shall be forever in your debt.

Some people would have taken that as a sign. Of what, I'm not sure. Maybe to play your MO albums more often? To embark on a pilgrimage to Hergest Ridge? To see a proctologist?

I think Olivier's Tubular "substance" experience must be the most quoted comment ever on MOF*.

(* I was about to say "TubularBoard", but we've recently had a name change, so I'm just going with the flow.)
