Well, what would fit for 20-25 minutes?
Amarok - definitely not (though it would have been a chance..)

more serious:
- Cook's Tune - with real orchestra! (maybe even Cook's Christmas version?), in Dulci Jubilo as alternative, considering it'll be Christmas time
- First Steps, Sunset or Ringscape from Light and Shade
- having a real orchestra, why not 'Mont St.Michel'?
- some of Moonlight Shadow, To France and Shadow on the Wall seem hard to avoid, being announced already on the website of NOTP

Also participating is Chico and the Gipsies (former Gipsy Kings), who might welcome another Spanish guitar, and OMD - I would love to hear Mike's guitar in 'Joan of Arc'.

...and , since it's called 'Night of the Proms', they may already have Wood's 'Fantasia On British Sea Songs' on the classic setlist - guess Mike should have (and maybe practise a little before..) his mandolin with him ;)

Hummmm....at the moment I'm thinking about Taurus III and Tears of an Angel(from L+S).

Really hoping for Mont St Michel
It would do Mike justice. It's one of his best piece to be performed on a night like that. made for it

Would sound 10 times better than orchestrated Shadow on the Wall (though I'd even go on my Bicycle to germany, even to see that)  ;)

Sea Songs is a piece that returns every couple of years on the 'Night of the Proms', so who knows it will be with Mike...

Would love to see Ascension or Let There Be Light live at some stage in my life but it seems that that will remain a silly dream as I don't think I will ever be that lucky,  unless..........................................   :/

I agree PiltdownboyMont St Michel is made for  orchestration,as is Hergest Ridge.
As the concerts are in December I think In Dulci Jubilo, Cook's Tune or Portsmouth would add tothe Yuletide mood.

Given that the town of Portsmouth has been linked with the Royal Navy for many years Portsmouth would be a great one toplay as would be the Sailors Hornpipe :) .
I'm sitting here trying to imagine how an orchestrated Ommadawn Part 1 might sound.

Of course I don'tthinkany prom would be complete without Elgar's Pomp and Circumstance No 1in D, a.k.a "Land of Hope and Glory   :) .

I'm going slightly mad,
It finally happened, I'm slightly mad , just very slightly mad

If you feel a little glum to Hergest Ridge you should come.

Unfortunately from the email that I received from Germany, Mike is definitely part of the 'Pop' section of the show which implies to me as someone else suggested that he will be playing stuff like MS, Family Man, Man in the Rain, Shadow on the Wall, Portsmouth maybe, Pictures in the Dark, Shine, ho hum.

I hate getting up early. I didn't even realise there were two 6 o'clocks in one day!

Sentinel or the classic TB intro should be considered on the set list...
