Why does Oldfield instist on using the times: 5/8, 7/8, 9/8 in almost all his songs?

can someone enlighten me???
In which SONG exactly does he use broken rythems?
moonlight shadow- to france- almost all the songs i can come up with are quite squared- no?

Not sure what you mean by "broken", but the first section of "Incantations" uses 11/8 (6/8 + 5/8 measures), sometimes breaking into 3/4 or 4/4. The vibes section of Side 4 is rather complicated, using several time signatures.

I think Yuval was being pedantic :D

Mike uses many such rhythms, but in his instrumentals rather than the songs - I think that was Yuval's point.
