Not sure in which section this should go, so I'll put it here...

Anyway, a friend of mine told me that he played Ommadawn while watching Nosferatu (the Herzog / Kinski version), and that he thought it worked perfectly. While that is certainly not an association I personally have with that album, I still can sort of see where he's coming from there. I'm wondering if anyone else associates any album or track of Mike's with another, unrelated piece of art, be it film, painting, literature, other music, or whatever.

With me, the strongest one is for "Ommadawn" also. I listened to it repeatedly when reading "Lord Foul's Bane" by Stephen R Donaldson. Much of the music fit the fantasy landscape perfectly. Has anyone else read this?

Where the Falls of Minnehaha
Flash and gleam among the oak-trees,
Laugh and leap into the valley."

I have. :) Can't say I remember all that much of it though, except that I found it to be a bit more than your average fantasy novel. But yes, I can certainly imagine Ommadawn would fit that mood.
