Hi,

I posted a Work In Progress version of a track (called In A Nutshell) a while ago and now it's finished and I've renamed it as Once Upon A Time.

I've recently found a site called Ourstage that allows users to judge music randomly head to head and so I've put the final version of the track up there for all to hear (and judge).

My profile is at: http://ourstage.com/profile/purplerhapsody and you can listen to Once Upon A Time without having to vote.

The voting/judging works by randomly selecting 2 tracks in your selected genre and asking you to compare them. A fancy algorithm/calculation ranks the songs and you end up with a chart. If you go to my profile and then hit the 'judge' link you will probably not end up judging my music but I highly recommend it as a way to listen to new music - there's a huge number of instrumental tracks on there and some of them are marvellous.

Please let me know what you think of the final version of Once Upon A Time, I'd really appreciate any feedback whatsoever.

Cheers,
Terry.

That's weird - the link should take you to the Purple Rhapsody profile page on the OurStage site. From there you can click the Once Upon A Time track and there should be a player...

I'll upload it somewhere else and let you know.

Cheers,
Terry.

Eureka!!

By the end I feel like I've been to the movies - great film score. Particular favourite moments are: - 0.18, 1.50, 3.43, 4.34 and 6.33....there's a lot going off... and nice fade out

Nice work indeed... Very expressive music, very suitable for films musics. I think it's your way, guy!
Congratulations.

That's very nice indeed, not just musically but production level is nice too. Reminds me in places of ISAN and Styrofoam, particularly the first minute. Only things... the guitar coming in at 1.25 comes in suddenly but with not enough impact - I would either add some more oomph there (a bassy kickdrum and a crash on that first note would do nicely) or go the other way and fade it in.
