Richard, please do us one favour, nothing personal mind, but please unlock your caps lock key, this is just difficult to read.
From your list, I like the Chieftains best. I'll also listen to some Vangelis when in the mood. And I like Rush and, well, tons of stuff :)

I must be out of it, as I'd never even seen/heard of almost half of those artists before I saw your listing. And Bonnie Tyler I only know from 3 songs.

Would that be 'Islands', 'When the Night's On Fire' and 'Total Eclipse of the Heart'? Same here :D

At the moment I tend to like any good progressive rock music and virtuoso guitar instrumentals. A lot of fans of Mike's music like Jarre, Vangelis and other new age acts, but I can't say I'm one of them

I used to think Vangelis was pompous and overly simplistic, and still do to some degree. However I have to admit I'm becoming something of a closet fan. Hearing the album "Albedo 0.39" changed my outlook on him a bit. Also the title track of "Spiral" is really impressive (whereas I think the rest of the album is forgettable). I'm now thinking there's more to his music than I'd been willing to give him.  I tend to agree with this reviewer who says: "Vangelis has always struck me as somebody whose music could be sublime and sophisticated one minute and banal and insipid the next." I'm not sure I'd call him new age either, well, some of his stuff perhaps, but some of it is much too "heavy" and / or intricate to be called that really.
Jarre I still don't like, I listened to Oxygene and Equinoxe once again a few days ago and they did nothing for me, with perhaps the exception of Oxygene 3, which is a bit kraftwerkian.

I had never heard any Vangelis until this month... Well, actually, I had. Aside from the obvious obvious Chariots Of Fire title theme, his music was constantly used on the TV in documentaries and stuff, and bits of Albedo 0.39, Spiral and Antarctica were already imprinted on my mind. But he's actually very good! I haven't heard too many albums yet, but I like what I hear. Heaven And Hell was largely unimpressive, but I like him already. Must check out the Blade Runner soundtrack sometime soon.

Jarre, well, I fell in love with Equinoxe many years ago, and I love his music. But as far as solo artists are concerned, I still rank David Byrne, Brian Eno and Peter Gabriel above them all. Those guys are everything.

I forgot about "When the Night's on Fire". The 3rd Bonnie Tyler song I was thinking of was "It's a Heartache". I think this was her first "hit".

Which Kraftwerk are you listening to, Tati? I do love "Autobahn", but I have not been impressed with their post Autobahn work. However, I do have an alarm clock shaped like a robot that plays their "We are the Robots" as the alarm.

WE ARE THE SHOWROOM DUMMIES.

Heh heh, I'm enjoying Trans-Europe Express. First Kraftwerk I heard, and it's a great one. I want Autobahn badly...

My mistake - Bonnie Tyler didn't sing on 'When the Night's On Fire'. In that case I only know the two songs

Hey,from Kraftwerk...
I'm listening to Autobahn up to Tour The France Soundtracks.Me a fan of the German band since 1991.

Watching them live is THE experience.Music + visual part.If Mike one day wants to join music + his MusicVR project,he should try to see Kraftwerk live. The images fit perfectly with the music. The band acting like robots,a different stage presence...it's magical. It's like taking up a drug, but the music is the drug...the Vitamin pills!!!!

Here you can check out some pics of them live in my city,as well as myself there.

I find I like Autobahn less than I used to, because, contrary to the common myth, I find it sounds really, really dated by now. No doubt it was totally groundbreaking in its day but when I listen to it now I find it a bit lame. Actually, I don't think Kraftwerk ever were more than five years ahead of their time (which is still damn impressive, mind).
I prefer Die Mensch-Maschine, it's probably my favourite Kraftwerk album. New album is good, too.

I get all tingly and transcendental when I think of music for roadtrips. I need to check out Autobahn, and I hope it truly lives up to its goal.

I listened to The Man Machine once, and I wasn't really too impressed by it. It might take a few more listens for it to truly sink in, and I hope it does (most people seem to think it's their masterpiece, anyway). Computer World blew me away, though. 'Pocket Calculator' is hilarious!

My brother has quite a few Kraftwerk albums, and they are interesting to listen to. Autobahn is pretty good, but it's quite minimalistic in a way, in that there isn't too many things happening all at once. The things that do happen are pretty good, but whether you'll like it or not depends on whether you think they are enough to fill a long track like that. Still, it is perfect for listening to while driving!!
