In addition to the commonly known and seen guitars that Mike Oldfield uses the http://tubular.net/instruments/ webpage in the Tubular.net website also lists the following other electric guitars: -

-Dark blue Stratocaster
-Gibson Es335 red

Does anyone know what albums Mike Oldfield used these guitars on?  :)  :)

He bought the 335 in LA, and I think probably used it on Tubular Bells II. He's since replaced it with the semi-acoustic PRS, which he prefers (I think I remember him describing the sound as being almost like a cello).

The Strat might be one of those guitars he bought just to use live (like the Washburn which was sold by Jeremy Parker recently) - I think I remember seeing him with one in concert, but I've never come across any evidence to suggest that he's used it on any albums. However, there's not really any evidence to suggest that he definitely hasn't either -  it's just that he's only ever mentioned using the red and sunburst ones.

Here's Mike with this one in here:

On the Elements box booklet, there's also a pic of Mike with this very same guitar.

Never saw a pic with him and the blue Strat, really.

For I am the person who contributed most of the information to the instrument list I think I have to put things straight.

The white Fender Stratocaster with the greenish tinge on the scratchplat (which dates it to the late fifties or early sixties) has been used by Mike while performing Arrival and Pictures In The Dark via playback on the Winterwelt mit Hits session in 1985 on Swiss TV.

The dark blue Strat was his Axe on the performance of Innocent on Na, siehste ... (ZDF, German TV, 1989)

and I have seen a picture of him during the same period with Anita holding an ESP built Strat.

All of these tools might not belong to Mike but he´s used them definitely.

So from my point of view the instrument list needs to be corrected a little bit, Olivier.

Thanks in advance!

On the other hand, I have a video clip of Mike in his studio sitting at the grand piano with Richard Branson, and on top of the piano lies a black Gibson ES-335 that does not look red at all!
