I like a couple of his tracks. I first heard his work when my brother burned a 'top 50 guitar solos' CD set, and I was totally blown away by 'For the Love of God' and searched out a few of his albums. My favourite tracks are For the Love of God, Sisters, The Boy from Seattle and Tender Surrender. I suppose I kind of like him as an guitarist: he can do some amazingly passionate and emotive tracks (like the ones I mentioned above) but most of his tracks just don't give me any sort of feeling at all. I've never heard of Uli Jon Roth.
