I can make out a voice and it says something and then a word that sounds like DEMON, but I can't tell. Back to top

It also sounds a bit like "Ouch demon!" but that makes less sense As for echoing Mike's other work, the drums are sampled from Simon Philips' playing towards the end of "Shadow on the Wall" Back to top

And we know that he had anger about everything in V. By the time TBIII was produced, weren't MO and RB buds again? Unless it was done tongue n cheek. Guess it could be a reference to the Exorcist (once again, like how sequel novels sometimes change to accomodate a movie, maybe Mike changed something as per the Exorcist), but Mike has always struck me as a person possessed by more demons than the average Man in the Rain. I had always thought it pertained to personal demons. And didn't one Mike Oldfield play mandolin & guitar on one of their albums. So, given the possible exorcism overtones & musical history, is Out demons Out a good bet. Back to top

moonchildhippy Group: Members Posts: 1807 Joined: Dec. 2004 Posted: Jan. 25 2005, 05:51 Indeed , Out Demons Out was a minor hit UK no33, for the Edgar Broughton Band in 1970,  it could've got higher but a postal strike prevented record shops sending in their sales figures( in the days before computers and e-mails).  Out Demons Out is included on the CD reissue of Sing Brother Sing, (that's where my info came from).  Mike did play mandolin on "Thinking Of You" by EBB, of 1971's "Edgar Broughton Band " album, also reissued,along with EBB's other EMI/Harvest albums.  Also of course Steve Broughton played drums on OTB, so I think Out Demons Out, it is on Outcast, which seems to fit the exorcism thing on TBIII         . -------------- I'm going slightly mad, It finally happened, I'm slightly mad , just very slightly mad If you feel a little glum to Hergest Ridge you should come.
