Has anyone heard of a track called "Oxygene 2000" by Mike Oldfield?

Does it exist? And from what album is it?

If he did make it, it's not on any of his albums....I doubt he made it. I think I remember finding this particular tune online or something...from what I remember it wasn't Mike Oldfield. though I can't remember anything at all really lol.

If it is by Mike then it has the wrong title because Mike has never made it known that he has recorded any Jarre compositions. There are many mp3s floating about in cyberspace that claim to be Oldfield but are not - I saw one credited to Mike and Jean Michel Jarre that turned out to be a Vangelis tune! Maybe if it's possible you could post a sample online so it could be identified?

well, there is a tune called "Oxygene 2001" by Mike Andrews.
Some of his songs have a slightly Mike-touch, as he describes himself as influenced by "Vangelis, Jean Michel Jarre, Mike Oldfield, Enya, Tangerine Dream, Sting,..." it's no big wonder.

U'll find O2001 and more of him @

Maybe this solves the question ?

It's almost 100% surely not by Mike. Too electronic, too 'housey' even for him. :)

sounds like someone was playin' around on his amiga500.
;)
and: sounds too cheap, even with regard to Tr3sLunas.

Yeah, you're probably right.

It's just, it's Mike who we are talking about and I think there is nothing you can't expect from him.

So I wanted a quick check from some experts. ;)

Anyway, thanks for the assistance!

well, I had a quick listen into a Jarre Tribute that was released by Cleopatra Records some years ago, whcih also featured a 04:30 version - but..... at least the tracks in the tribute sounded a bit like their names.

There is a remix of the song "Equinoxe 4" called "Equinoxe 2000", but it's a pathetic techno version.
