McCartney was actually my favorite artist at one point, in the era of "Junior's Farm", "Band on the Run" and "Uncle Albert". However, after "Venus and Mars" he went disco, and I did not care for his work anymore (artistically, "Paul is Dead"). Probably around this time I found "Tubular Bells"....

Hi Hiawatha!

I think saying "he went disco" is a little bit off the mark.  One or two tracks did incorporate elements of disco for sure, but he never fully embraced the genre.

I think it would be more accurate to say "he went a bit shit" myself.

Hmm... I have to disagree here  ;)

He made lots of great music after that. Tug of War from 1982 is brilliant in my opinion.
Some of his latest lp's are my favourites: Flaming Pie and his best imo is Chaos and Creation In The Backyard, his latest pop album.

I didn't hear the classical one yet, but I will soon I guess...
I haven't heard ANY review so I couldn't say... I am also a lot on the McCartney forum. It's a great great place!!!

Well, if his latest album is pop, I won't listen to it, as I avoid that.
